Link t the CREATE Drpbx: Intrductin: As urbanizatin cntinues t be an increasing trend bth glbally and in the U.S., Sacrament finds itself as the area with the largest urban infill prject in the cuntry. The Sacrament Railyards, lcated just nrth f dwntwn, is a 240+ acre site that is planned t huse a new hspital, a curthuse, a new Majr League Sccer Stadium, ffice space, retail space and up t 10,000 new husing units. At the heart f this area, adjacent t the intermdal transprtatin facility are several existing buildings that were used by the Unin Pacific railrad fr maintenance f their trains. One f these buildings was utilized as a paint shp. The CREATE Bard f Directrs invites prpsals fr the adaptive re-use f the existing paint shp building in the Sacrament Railyards. Yur team is t prvide a prpsal t cnvert the existing building int either a traditinal mixed-use develpment (retail/ffice/husing) r an entertainment/recreatinal facility such as a cncert venue, indr sprts facility r skate park. The facility shuld serve nt nly the future residents f the Railyards area but residents f dwntwn Sacrament. The budget fr this prject shuld nt exceed $550 per square ft. AutCAD files f the existing building shell will be prvided fr yur use. The Bard is explring pprtunities t have the teams visit the site and view the building. 2 Prject Requirements: The fllwing list f items is t be included in yur Phase 1 Submissin: - Prject narrative: A wrd narrative describing yur team s cncept including reasning and research behind yur chice f venue. - Meeting minutes: Typed meeting minutes fr all team meetings including Trades Day using the template prvided. Include a summary f a scheduling & estimating exercise. - Student Resumes (Resumes may have a standardized frmat fr the entire team r each student may use their wn preferred frmat. Yu may als create a resume using the LinkedIn template). - Jin the CREATE LinkedIn Grup. The team with the greatest percentage f students wh jin the grup will receive 5 extra bnus pints added t their verall scre. If a student is already a member f the CREATE LinkedIn Grup, they d nt need t jin again and they will be added int the team s percentage. The fllwing list f items is t be included in yur Phase 2 Submissin: - Prject flr plans: Schematic level plans shuld be t scale and shuld define prgram spaces including but nt limited t ticketing/access cntrl, restrms, ffice spaces fr venue management, retail space (fr suvenirs and/r cncessins) and defined entertainment r recreatin spaces.
