2 Spnsred by GENERAL RULES OF SUBMISSION Please rganize yur entry by prviding infrmatin in fur separate sectins in the fllwing rder: SECTION 1 Build San Dieg Prject Entry Infrmatin The Build San Dieg Awards Prgram is pen t all General Cntractr, Cntractr and Specialty Cntractr members wh are wrking as the prime n a jb and in gd standing with the Assciated General Cntractrs, San Dieg Chapter, Inc. Emerging cntractr members are als eligible. All entries must be received in the AGC Office, 6212 Ferris Square, San Dieg, CA By 12:00nn n Friday, September 1, NO deadline extensins will be given. All prjects must be lcated within San Dieg Cunty and must be cmpleted frm September 1, 2015 thrugh August 31, Each entry must be submitted in prtective packaging, with a separate package fr each prject yu submit and with yur cmpany s name and the prject s name clearly appearing n each prtin f yur entry. Only ne cpy is needed. Yu may enter mre than ne prject in this year s cmpetitin, but nly ne prject per categry. Each entry must be accmpanied by an entry frm similar t the frm n the back f this brchure. All general infrmatin must be prvided as indicated. Each entry must be accmpanied by an entry fee f a $275 check t be made payable t AGC San Dieg Chapter, Inc. Members are respnsible fr all csts assciated with creating entries and transmitting them t the AGC ffice. Entries will be judged by a panel f individuals representing the civic, business and plitical arenas. This panel will select up t three finalists in each categry - finalists will be ntified f their selectin prir t the Build San Dieg Awards Banquet. Als, merit awards may be given at the discretin f the judges. San Dieg AGC is nt respnsible fr returning entries, nr is it respnsible fr lss f r damage t entries. Yu therefre are urged nt t submit indispensable riginals. San Dieg AGC, its members and staff, and its selected panel f judges d nt assume r accept any liability fr any errr r missin r claim arising frm this awards prgram, including, but nt limited t, lss r damage t entries by the U.S. Pstal Service r ther means f transmittal, lss r damage in transit r in strage, misinterpretatin by members f these rules, lss f r damage t reputatin r prspective business advantage r any cnsequential damage as a result f any f the freging. 3 Spnsred by SECTION 2 Prject Categries Yu may enter up t ne prject in each f eight categries. Building Cnstructin Public Wrk Cnstructin, alteratin, mdificatin, imprvement r repair in whle r in part f a publicly financed building structure, including any wd-frame prject and any building prject classified as Type I, II, III, IV r V. Building Cnstructin Private Wrk Same as Categry 1, but fr privately financed building structures. Heavy/Highway Cnstructin Cnstructin, alteratin, mdificatin, imprvement r repair in whle r in part f an engineering prject, either publicly r privately financed, including any wrk perfrmed n a highway, bridge, earthmving r paving prject, but excluding wrk perfrmed n undergrund utility prjects. Undergrund/Utility Cnstructin Cnstructin, alteratin, mdificatin, imprvement r repair in whle r in part f an undergrund/utility prject, including any wrk invlved with the laying f water r sewer piping r water r sewer treatment plant prjects. Unique Small Prject Public Wrk Any prject f any type, nt exceeding $6 millin, publicly financed. Unique Small Prject Private Wrk Any prject f any type, nt exceeding $6 millin, privately financed. Unique Special Prject Any prject, public r private, that exemplifies the cntractr s ability t meet unique prject challenges thrugh prviding an alternative prject delivery system (i.e. Design Build, Cnstructin Management, CM/GC, etc.). Build San Dieg Sustainable Prject Award This categry was intrduced in 2011! It includes any prject that exemplifies the cntractr s ability t integrate int the prject envirnmentally friendly resurces; USGBC cncepts; imprved energy cnsumptin; imprved water quality measures; imprved air quality measures, etc. Bth hrizntal and vertical (building) prjects are eligible. Nte The abve categry descriptins are intentinally general; they are designed t include, nt exclude, any and all prjects yu believe t be wrthy f entry. N entries will be disqualified r ignred because they dn t seem t fit the categry specified; hwever, the panel f judges may at its discretin decide t mve a prject frm ne categry t anther if ding s seems apprpriate. The judges, at their discretin, may als select a prject r prjects fr special recgnitin.

4 Spnsred by SECTION 3 Prject Overview 1. Cmplete a nminatin frm with the general infrmatin required as per the sample frm n the back f this brchure. 2. Write ne r mre brief, specific reasns why the prject shuld be judged within the categry in which yu ve chsen. 3. Summarize WHY it is deserving f a Build San Dieg Award. 4. Write a brief paragraph with a general descriptin f the scpe f wrk and/r prject verview. 5. Build San Dieg entries are judged by the entrant s written respnse t the Judging Criteria in Sectin 4 belw. Please succinctly answer each f the criteria numbered 1 thru 5, using the headings fr each sectin n this prtin f yur written narrative. 6. Yu must submit, via CD r flash drive, 5 f yur best digital images fr each prject. Acceptable frmats are eps (preferred), jpg, r tif. If pssible, include at least ne cnstructin-phase pht. 7. Yu MAY, at yur discretin, submit additinal back-up supprt demnstrating why yur prject is a winner. Examples might be news article clippings, additinal pictures (cnstructin phase r cmpletin), special cmmendatins frm wners, ther awards wn; special materials prduced in supprt f the prject s cnstructin, such as cmmunity bulletins, emplyee newsletters, grund breaking r grand pening prmtins, etc. 8. Fr each prject yu enter, assemble written and back-up materials, whenever pssible, in a 3-ring binder, and bundle ther materials that will nt fit in a binder separately. BE SURE t mark every individual piece f the entry with yur cmpany name and prject name. 9. Prvide ne electrnic cpy f yur cmpany s lg. High reslutin vectr art (.ai r.eps) required! SECTION 4 Judging Criteria 1. Excellence in prject management as related t yur entry. 2. Innvatin in cnstructin techniques r materials as related t yur entry. 3. Excellence in client service as related t yur entry. 4.
