1 BASHR Frequently Asked Questins General What is BASHR Service? It is an integrated e-service granting investrs the ability t establish a business in UAE within a few minutes in a quick, easy and secure way withut the need t visit any entity. The fllwing bundle is prvided thrugh BASHR: Business Trade License. Chamber f Cmmerce Membership Number. Federal Authrity fr Identity and Citizenship Establishment Card Number. Upn successful cmpletin f final payment, the bundle will be generated autmatically and prvided electrnically which will allw investrs t start their business right away. Shuld I submit any identificatin papers t start the service? There are n dcuments required at the time f applying fr BASHR. Hwever, pst the issuance f trade license and ther dcuments electrnically, the investr will be given a grace perid t submit required dcuments: One year t submit a tenancy cntract t the Department f Ecnmic Develpment in the emirate f the established business. 60 days fr Nn-UAE natinal t: Transfer his visa status t investr residency. Submit a valid N Objectin Certificate t the Federal Authrity fr Identity and Citizenship in case s/he is emplyed in gvernment entity r if she is a husewife. Trade License Number, CC Membership Number, ICA Establishment Number and MOHRE Establishment Number will autmatically be updated in BASHR prtal. Can I start my business anywhere in UAE thrugh BASHR service? Currently BASHR service can be availed t set up yur business in mainland f Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Fujairah / Dibba Fujairah and Abu Dhabi. Dubai/Sharjah/Umm Al Quwain: Cming Sn. Free znes: Cming Sn. UAE PASS is yur persnal digital identity fr secure identificatin. It is an easy and safe service that will give yu access t varius signature and authenticatin services within the United Arab Emirates. Fr mre infrmatin please visit Business Activities What is a Primary Business Activity and an Additinal Business Activity? Yur business may have several business activities invlved. Hwever, the activity that is predminant in yur business will be yur primary activity and all ther related activities will be yur additinal activities. Is it mandatry t prvide Primary and an Additinal Business Activity? Primary Business Activity is mandatry. Hwever, the additinal business activity is ptinal depending n yur business. Please nte that all activities that yur business has, shuld be part f the primary and secndary activities. Can I select any cmbinatin f ecnmic activities fr my business? Yu can chse a primary activity fr yur business and als select ne r multiple additinal business activities that are linked with the primary activity. Why can't I find all activities that can be pened in an emirate listed in the BASHR service? Currently business can nly be pened fr activities available in BASHR. The service will expand t cver ther activities sn. Memrandum f Assciatin What is Digital Signature? Digital Signature is a feature enabled thrugh UAE Pass, which allws the hlder t sign dcuments using an electrnic signature. Hw d my partners and I sign the Memrandum f Assciatin? Signing the Memrandum f Assciatin will be dne electrnically with a Digital Signature, which is a feature integrated with UAE Pass. Bashr applicatin relies n UAE Pass Digital Signature fr the digital signing f the MA.

4 Hw much time d I get fr getting all the partners t digitally sign the Memrandum f Understanding? After the signature f the primary applicant, he must ensure that all partners digitally sign the Memrandum f Assciatin within 5 days. Are my signatures legally valid under UAE Law and d ther third party like Banks accept this like any ther dcument with a pen signature? UAE Law recgnizes the digital signature as equivalent t a pen signature. Mre details here. All third parties shall accept as a valid dcument. Where des Bashr applicatin get the signature image that is attested t the Memrandum f Assciatin? Bashr retrieves the signature image assciated with yur emirates ID. Hw d I check that the Memrandum f Assciatin has been digitally signed? Open the Memrandum f Assciatin using Adbe Acrbat Reader, click n the Signature Panel t see the details f the digital signature. Mdificatin/Cancellatin f Applicatin Can I change any details f the applicatin? Yes, yu can change the details f yur applicatin until the trade name is selected. If yu need t change any details pst trade name selectin, create a new BASHR applicatin. Can I cancel my applicatin? Yes, but nt after yu have chsen the trade name fr yur business. Business Trade Name What is a business trade name? A business trade name is the name f yur business which will be printed n yur Memrandum f Assciatin, trade license and signbard. What is the business trade name structure? The trade name is cmprised f the unique business name and the business activity. The business name shuld be unique and shuld be prvided in bth Arabic and English. Any names mentined in trade name shuld be a transliteratin in Arabic/English. Any activities mentined in trade name shuld be a translatin in Arabic/English. Example: Mhammed General Trading

5 Hw d I get a unique name fr my business? The Search Trade Name feature enables the search fr registered trade names with the Department f Ecnmic Develpment f each emirate. This feature will assist yu with selecting a unique business name fr yur new business. What des it mean if the trade name is returned in the results f Trade Name Search? The trade name is already being used by anther investr. Can I chse any available name fr my business? Are there any restrictins? Yu cannt have names that are frbidden r being used by anther investr. Refer t the Trade Name Plicies t knw the cmplete list f plicies that shuld be fllwed. Payment What payment methds are available fr this service? Credit cards. e-dirham cards. Why is there an additinal fee charged fr paying with e-dirham card r Visa/Master Card? Additinal fees fr payment thrugh the e-dirham system were apprved by the Cuncil f Ministers Reslutin N. (4) fr the year Refer t e-dirham fr mre details n the service fee. Thugh I made the payment successfully, I did nt receive the cnfirmatin message. Yu can access BASHR prtal and check the status f yur applicatin. Yu can als cntact BASHR call center ( ). Whm shuld I cntact if I need mre details n payment prcess r in case I face any issues during my payment prcess? Please cntact the BASHR call center n tll free number ( ). Why d I have t make 2 different payments during the applicatin prcess? The first payment is fr the initial apprval service. Once BASHR receives an apprval t yur applicatin, yu will be ntified t cmplete yur applicatin by making the final payment, which cvers all the fees related t the Department f Ecnmic Develpment, ther lcal departments and Federal fees.

6 Pst BASHR Activities What are the next steps after the cmpletin f the BASHR applicatin? Tenancy cntract needs t be attested and submitted t DED within the first year. N Objectin Certificate shuld be submitted t the Federal Authrity fr Identity and Citizenship within 60 days f applicatin (Applicable nly fr Nn-UAE Natinal Investrs wrking in a gvernmental authrity [T be btained frm the authrity] r Husewife [T be btained frm her husband]. Nn-UAE Natinal partner(s) transfer their visa status t investr residency within 60 days f trade license issuance. If any f the abve is nt cmpleted within the prvided time, the trade license and assciated dcuments may be autmatically cancelled. Can I start recruiting emplyees after cmpleting this service? Yes, given that thrugh BASHR service yu will receive 3 Wrk Permit Quta t hire emplyees. Visit the nearest Tasheel center t cmplete the prcess f applying fr wrk permit fr yur new emplyee. Trade Name Plicies The trade name shall crrespnd t reality and shall nt mislead, prejudice public rder r mrals r cnstitute an attack n the rights f thers inside r utside the Emirate, shuld nt cntain inapprpriate wrds even if it is a persnal name, shuld nt cntravene the applicable instructins and regulatins, bth federally and lcally. A trade name previusly registered by the Cmpetent Authrity r with a similar name may nt be registered t such an extent that wuld lead t cnfusin. Name f Limited Liability Cmpany: A limited liability cmpany shall have a name derived frm its purpse, r frm the name f ne r mre partners, with the additin f the statement 'Limited Liability Cmpany' and abbreviated as 'LLC'. In the event f a ne-persn cmpany, the name f the cmpany shall be assciated with the name f its wner fllwed by limited liability ne-persn cmpany. The trade name must accurately reflect the business activity and legal frm. The trade name shuld be written literally and nt translated, and it is preferable t have an Arabic name. The 'ecnmic activity' mentined in the trade name must be translated. The name 'Allah', 'the Lrd' r any f the names f Allah. (excluding cmpund names) Names indicating affiliatin with any plitical party, assciatin, trade unin, cperative sciety r names f glbal rganizatins. (FBI, Mafia, United Natins, NATO, etc.) Trademarks withut a special permissin.

7 Name f a cuntry, gvernment r capital. Name f any Emirate unless it is a gvernment r semi-gvernment entity, gvernment facilities and prjects in any f the Emirates. Names f the ruling family r cntain emblems f any emirate. Names that suggest a link t the cuntry, federal gvernment departments, legal bdy, authrity, gvernment agency, r any ther municipality r lcal authrity, including names that cntain wrds such as 'unin' r 'emirate'.
