2 Think f a username and passwrd fr yur MNsure accunt, if yu d nt already have ne. Signing In T Yur Accunt: Avid the Mst Cmmn System Errrs T avid the mst cmmn errrs, use an up-t-date recmmended brwser and clear yur brwser cache and ckies befre yu sign in. This is easily dne by pressing the Ctrl+Shift+Delete keys, r pening yur brwser settings. 400 r 500 unhandled service exceptin errr: Clear yur brwser histry and cache, r change brwsers. If the errr is received at the summary screen, g back t hme page t start a new applicatin. Unhandled user errr: May ccur if yu use yur brwser s back arrw buttn. Click n the MNsure hme buttn n the applicatin page t resume. D nt use brwser arrw buttns while in the MNsure applicatin. Cannt see the Cntinue r Next buttn because the page size is t big: Place yur muse cursr n a blank area f the page, press the tab key several times and the page will mve dwn. Or, press the cntrl and hyphen keys t zm ut. Creating an Accunt Enrllees that already have an existing MNsure accunt shuld nt create a new accunt. Yu can reset yur passwrd nline r yu can call the MNsure Cntact Center at fr assistance. Tips fr Creating an Accunt Dn't use spaces n the accunt creatin frm. Make sure there are n leading r trailing spaces in any f the text yu enter when creating yur accunt. If there are spaces, yu may get an errr. Fr example, if yur name is "Mary Beth", just enter Mary. Using "Mary Beth" cntains a space and this will likely cause an errr. T avid issues with e-signature prcess, we recmmend that yu avid using special characters, such as dashes, perids and cmmas, when entering yur name and address fr accunt creatin. We als recmmend ensuring that the e- signature prtin f the applicatin match exactly the name used in the applicatin prtin. Phne field: D nt enter spaces; the phne number yu enter will be autmatically frmatted fr yu. Address field: D nt use abbreviatins (fr example use Avenue instead f Ave.) December 16, 2016 page 2 f 5

3 Be sure t fllw the passwrd rules when creating yur passwrd, and secure yur accunt with a passwrd that nly yu will knw. Yur user lgin ID can be frm ne t 20 characters lng and can nly include alphanumeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9). Yur passwrd must include eight (8) characters f letters, numbers, and special characters. It must include at least ne number. It must include at least ne uppercase and at least ne lwercase letter. It must include at least ne special character frm the fllwing list:! " # $ % & ' ( ),. : =?@ r space character. Please nte: asterisks (*) are nt allwed. Recently used passwrds cannt be reused. D nt use yur user name, first name r last name as part f the passwrd. If yu frget yur username r passwrd yu can recver this infrmatin by using the Frgt Yur Username r Frgt Yur Passwrd link n the sign in page. Yu are limited t five attempts befre yu will be lcked ut f yur accunt. Yu can reset yur passwrd by answering yur security questins yu set during accunt creatin r by requesting a reset link t be sent t yur registered address. These ptins are available t yu by clicking 'Frgt Yur Passwrd?' n the lgin page. If yu need t update yur , yu can d s by clicking n the "Manage Security Settings" link at the bttm f the lgin page and signing in. There yu will see an ptin t update yur accunt infrmatin. If yu are unable t create an nline accunt, yu shuld cmplete the accunt creatin frm; be sure t include an address. Mail the cmpleted frm t MNsure with cpies f required identificatin. Yu will receive an cnfirmatin frm MNsure within five t seven (5-7) business days. Applicatin Yu will nt be able t make changes t yur applicatin nce yu have electrnically signed it. Cmplete the applicatin and plan selectin frm start t finish in ne sitting withut lgging ut r clsing yur brwser windw. 4 Tips fr Filling ut the Applicatin T avid issues with the e-signature prcess, ensure that the e-signature prtin f the applicatin matches exactly the name used in the applicatin prtin. Only enter data int the required fields (thse marked with *) D nt use special characters such as a perid, hyphen, dash r cmma when entering yur name and address. D nt use yur full middle name. Yu can use the middle initial, but d nt include a perid. Write dwn hw yu entered yur name s yu have it later when yu need t sign the applicatin. Applicatin Status, Enrllment and Payment It takes 24 hurs fr yur enrllment infrmatin t be lgged int ur system. Befre calling ur Cntact Center with questins abut yur enrllment, please wait at least 24 hurs after submitting yur nline enrllment. If yur applicatin is pending and yu have nt enrlled in a plan: Select the Enrll in Plans link. If yu are eligible fr a private health plan (with r withut tax credits) select the Enrll in Plans buttn t shp fr yur plan. If yu are eligible fr Medical Assistance r MinnestaCare, yu will receive a packet in the mail. If yu are enrlled and paid but yur applicatin is still pending: If yu are enrlled in a private health plan (with r withut tax credits) yu will receive a packet in the mail frm the insurance cmpany. If yu are signed up fr Medical Assistance r MinnestaCare, call the DHS Minnesta Health Care Prgrams Member Help Desk at If yu were determined eligible fr and chse a private health plan, yur enrllment selectin will be sent t yur chsen insurance cmpany. Yu shuld receive yur insurance cards and plan infrmatin frm yur insurance cmpany within days. Yu must pay yur health insurance cmpany directly as yu cannt pay nline thrugh MNsure. Yu shuld receive an invice r a letter frm yur insurance cmpany abut yur first mnth s payment. Pay yur bill by the due date prvided by the insurance cmpany. In sme cases, yu must make payment befre the plicy is activated. If yu have questins abut yur first mnth s payment, please call yur selected health r dental insurance cmpany. If yu cmpleted the applicatin and were tld yu qualify fr Medical Assistance r MinnestaCare, the Minnesta Department f Human Services will cmmunicate December 16, 2016 page 4 f 5

5 with yu sn. There is nthing mre yu need t d at this time. Yu will receive further infrmatin in the mail that will either cnfirm yur cverage r describe if there are any additinal things that yu need t d. If yu are currently enrlled in Medical Assistance r MinnestaCare d NOT sign in thrugh MNsure.rg t renew yur cverage. Yu d nt have t take any actin unless yu are directed t d s by the Minnesta Department f Human Services. Fr questins abut Medical Assistance r MinnestaCare cverage, call the DHS Minnesta Health Care Prgrams Member Help Desk at r , Mnday thrugh Friday, 8 a.m. t 5 p.m. If yu are eligible fr the 0% reductin cst-sharing reductin (CSR), yu must cmplete the applicatin and plan selectin in ne sitting withut lgging ut. If yu lgut after eligibility is determined, yu will need t cntact the MNsure Cntact Center at t cmplete yur enrllment s that yur American Indian/Alaska Native zer-csr benefit can be applied.
