Delegate rms are cvered by the event. Families d nt need t cntact the htel t reserve rms. $50 registratin fee, payable by check r credit card. Registratin fee is nt due until yuth are selected as delegates. If paying by check, make payable t University f Missuri but send check t Cunty Extensin Office nted as Missuri 4-H Legislative Academy. Yuth can apply Oct 15-Dec 15 at Delegate selectin will ccur by Dec. 31, with results shared with all applicants and cunty staff. Delegates shuld arrive at the htel between 10:00-11:00 a.m. n Feb. 19 t check in and dress int business attire. The Academy ends at 4:00pm n Feb. 21 at the htel. Parents and family members are invited t cme fr grup presentatins at 3:30pm. Yuth will wear business and/r prfessinal attire during the three-day Academy. Delegates receive a dress cde and packing list after selectin. Yuth seeking internships with state agencies r legislature are encuraged t bring resume cpies. 4-H will prvide business cards fr each delegate. Delegate Selectin Up t 15 yung peple will be selected based n: 1) a fully cmpleted 4-H Online applicatin, 2) demnstrated 4-H leadership/citizenship experience, and 3) ability t psitively represent Missuri 4-H t state-level decisin-makers and dnrs. Up t 3 alternates may be chsen in case selected delegates are unable t attend. Due t the limited number f slts available, 4-H members may nly attend this trip nce. (Yuth wh were selected as alternates in previus years, but did nt attend, may apply again.) The selectin cmmittee will chse a team f delegates that encmpasses the diversity f Missuri 4-H. Delegates will be chsen frm all ver the state, representing clubs, cllege/career readiness prgrams, metr and nn-metr areas, State 4-H Cuncil, and Cllegiate 4-H. While applicatins are pen t all eligible 4-H members, the selectin cmmittee may actively recruit and base final decisins n ensuring diverse representatin. Academy Spnsrs Thrugh generus gifts t the Missuri 4-H Fundatin, a number f Missuri assciatins, rganizatins, and individuals make the 4-H Legislative Academy pssible each year. Yuth delegates will have the pprtunity t meet sme spnsrs during the Academy in Jeffersn City, and will write thank yu ntes t spnsrs afterward.

Part 1: Yuth Bigraphical Data Fill in yur bigraphical infrmatin. Nte that the cmpletin f yur applicatin requires the electrnic signature f yu (the applicant), a parent/guardian, and the 4-H specialist frm yur cunty. Part 2: Yuth Legislative Shadw Prvide the name f yur lcal r hmetwn newspaper fr publicity abut yur selectin. List the State Senatr and State Representative wh represent yur lcal legislative district in Jeffersn City. (D nt list U.S. Cngressinal representatives in Washingtn D.C.). Prvide yur first chice f Missuri State Legislatr t shadw in the Huse r Senate, and include why yu request that legislatr. T lk up yur state legislatrs, visit Part 3: Schl Absence Request Frm Print ff the schl absence request frm belw. Meet with yur schl administratr t discuss yur applicatin. (This frm is nt required fr applicants wh attend cllege). Obtain yur schl administratr s permissin fr schl absence n February 19-21, Uplad the signed request frm t yur applicatin in 4-HOnline. If yu are selected as a delegate, yu will receive a schl absence letter t turn in t yur schl administratr. Part 4-6: Yuth Applicant Narratives (read carefully) T cmplete part 4-6 f the applicatin, type ut respnses t narrative questins using: One-inch margins 12-pint fnt Sectin titles r headings Single-space each sectin Duble-space in between sectins Narratives shuld be typed in essay frm using cmplete sentences.
