The fllwing are sme things yu can start wrking n immediately: PASSPORTS Fr departure frm Australia and entry int the Philippines yu will require a passprt. If yu d nt have a current passprt with at least six mnths t g befre it expires, yu will need t btain a new ne. Yu can get the ball rlling n this prcess by picking up a passprt applicatin frm frm any Australia Pst shp. At the mment an adult passprt csts $ and a child (under 18 years f age) passprt csts $ Once all the crrect dcumentatin is prvided, a passprt will take arund tw weeks t be issued. We will need yur passprt details t give t the airline very sn, s please get yur passprt rganised as sn as pssible. Children under 15 years f age at the time f travel, wh are nt accmpanied by a parent r cming t meet a parent r parents in the Philippines, must present a Waiver f Exclusin Grund (WEG). If this applies t yu, the Cllege will help yu with this prcess. If this is the case, the fllwing will need t be presented t the Philippine Cnsulate prir t travel: Letter request addressed t the Cmmissiner frm the parent r the legal guardian; Affidavit f Cnsent by either f the parents f the subject minr (belw 15 years f age); Phtcpy f subject minr s passprt bi-page; Phtcpy f the parent/s r legal guardian s passprt bi-page; and Phtcpy f the fficial receipt f payment fr the WEG fee. AIRFARE & COSTS A significant prtin f the trip s expense is the airfare. The exact amunt f the trip is yet t be determined but will be nt mre than $ As such the Cllege requires: 1. a NON-REFUNDABLE depsit f $ frm each participant by Friday 8 December the remaining balance due in tw $ payments n: a. Friday 9 February 2018 and b. Friday 23 March 2018 (unless paid befrehand). Please refer t the payment plan attached t this letter fr payment ptins. VACCINATIONS As lng as students are up t date with their current vaccinatins, n further vaccinatins shuld be necessary. If yu have any cncerns, please refer t the Smart Traveller website ( r make an appintment with yur dctr r travel clinic fr a basic health check-up, and t discuss yur travel plans and any implicatins fr yur health, particularly if yu have an existing medical cnditin. This shuld be dne at least eight weeks prir t departure. COMMITMENT Preparatin fr the trip will be thrugh and will require attendance at all six meetings during Term 1 (time t be decided). 4 TEAM MEMBER CODE OF CONDUCT In participating in the Philippines Missin Experience, each team member agrees t the fllwing cde f cnduct: Hnur and respect the leaders f the team, their decisins and instructins. Reprt fr all team respnsibilities, including daily team briefings and debriefings n time. Participate fully in all activities where pssible. Encurage and supprt the ther members f the team. Seek t be sensitive t the cultures f the cmmunities visited, and the rganisatins partnered with. Exercise due persnal respnsibility fr persnal safety and pssessins including, but nt limited t, passprts and travel dcuments. Observe designated safety prtcls and behaviurs fr team member safety including: All travel t be in grups f n less than three peple, ne f which must be a male. N separatin frm the main grup unless given permissin by a team leader. Check in ON TIME at designated grup check-in times and lcatins. Dress apprpriately and sensitively, understanding the ambassadrial nature f the missin trip. Respect the instructins and directives f the staff and leadership f the missin rganisatins with whm we will be partnering during the tur. Observe prudent behaviur with regard t the members f the team f ppsite gender e.g. n bys in girls rms and vice versa unless supervised by a team leader. Observe ALL schl rules and expectatins. Cnsequences fr Breach f Cde In the instance f this cde f cnduct being wilfully brken by a team member, that persn will be cautined. If cntinued vilatins f the cde f cnduct ccur, then the team member will be cnfined t the team accmmdatin under supervisin and their parents cntacted and infrmed. If breaches f cnduct cntinue, the team member will be sent hme frm the missin trip at their wn expense. Agreement Student: I agree t adhere t nrmal Cllege rules and these guidelines in particular whilst invlved in the Investigatr Cllege Philippines Missin Experience I agree that, if the Tur Leader is satisfied that I have breached the agreement, s/he will take whatever curse f actin is deemed necessary fr the safe and/r harmnius cnduct f the trip. Parent/Caregiver: In the case f emergency, when I am nt able t be cntacted, I agree t staff authrising medical treatment that they cnsider necessary.
