1 What is Degree Wrks? Degree Wrks is an nline degree auditing tl which enables students and their advisrs t review and mnitr academic prgress leading t graduatin. It rganizes academic cursewrk int blcks t help easily identify curses and requirements that yu have cmpleted and what requirements are still remaining t cmplete yur degree. What is a Degree Wrks Audit? A Degree Wrks audit is an nline versin f a requirements check sheet. It prvides a review f past, current and planned cursewrk as well as infrmatin abut cmpleted and utstanding degree requirements. Hw t Read a Degree Wrks Audit Audits are rganized by blcks. The blcks display the requirements needed fr a specific degree, majr, minr, etc. These blcks will help yu see what is needed in rder t satisfy the requirements within each area. Legend The legend, as shwn belw, cntains all f the unique symbls that are imprtant t help yu interpret yur Degree Wrks audit. This symbl will appear next t all requirements that have been cmpleted within the audit. The rw will be highlighted light yellw and will display the curse(s) that fulfilled the requirement alng with the grade and the semester in which the curse was taken. This symbl will appear next t all requirements that have nt yet been cmpleted within the audit. The rw will be highlighted light pink and will display the curse(s) that can be used t cmplete the requirement. This symbl will appear next t curses that are currently in prgress and any blcks which will be cmpleted after a curse in prgress has been successfully fulfilled. The rw will be highlighted light blue and an IP will be displayed in the grade sectin. This symbl means that special attentin is needed and yu shuld cnsult with yur advisr. There are a few instances in particular that will get flagged by a duble tilde such as, if all f the requirements in a blck have been cmpleted, hwever, the minimum GPA requirement has nt been This symbl acts as a wildcard. It may be used after a subject cde (e.g. which means any curse within that subject. It can als be used by itself which means any subject any curse number. This symbl indicates a curse that was accepted in transfer. The schl where the curse was transferred in frm and the riginal title f the curse will display.

2 * The * symbl may appear next t a curse indicating that there is a prerequisite r c-requisite required fr that curse. If yu click n the curse the prerequisite r c-requisite will be listed. Blck Headers Blck headers will cntain a title fr each individual blck area. Just like the individual requirements within each blck, the blck header will cntain a symbl stating the status f all the requirements within the blck (see Legend abve). Student Infrmatin Blck The Student Infrmatin Blck is the first sectin f the audit and cntains all f the key elements f yur student recrd such as Classificatin, Overall GPA, Degree, Majr and Minr. It als is a quick reference t verify if there are any registratin hlds n yur recrd and whether yu have filed a petitin t graduate r selected yur Advanced LAS Optin. Degree Blck This is the main blck which serves as a summary f all blcks within the audit and lists each grup f requirements that yu will need t satisfy in rder t cmplete yur degree. This main blck will nt have the Cmplete symbl until all f the ther blcks have been cmpleted. The tp right crner f this blck will display the ttal number f credits required t graduate, ttal number f credits yu have applied twards graduatin, current verall GPA and yur catalg year.

3 English and Mathematics Readiness Requirement This blck cnfirms whether yu have satisfied the University English and Mathematics readiness requirement. Develpmental curses such as MATH 0100, MATH 0200 and ENGL 0100 d nt cunt tward a degree and will appear in the Nt Degree Applicable blck lcated at the bttm f the Degree Wrks audit. LAS Blcks The LAS Blcks list the Liberal Arts and Sciences prgram requirements. The LAS Blcks cnsist f the fllw areas: Glbal Diversity; Science, Math and Technlgy; Citizenship and the Wrld; The Arts, and the Advanced LAS. These blcks will track what LAS requirements are cmpleted, in prgress r are still needed. Majr Blck This blck tracks the majr requirements fr yur degree and indicates what curses are cmpleted, in prgress r are still needed.

4 Free Electives The Free Electives blck lists any curse(s) that are nt used t satisfy specific curse requirements n the Degree Wrks audit. These curses cunt twards yur GPA and the minimum 120 cllege level credits that are required t qualify fr graduatin. Curses Nt Used This blck lists any curses that yu have withdrawn frm, did nt successfully pass r curses that were taken mre than nce, but were nt repeatable fr credit. In-prgress The In-prgress blck lists all f the curses a student is currently registered fr, but nt yet cmpleted. Other Blcks There are a number f ther blcks that may appear n yur Degree Wrks audit depending n yur individual prgram f study. Fr example, these areas can include an academic minr r freign language requirement. Tabs and Features There are fur main tabs that appear at the tp f yur Degree Wrks audit: Wrksheets, Planner, Ntes and GPA Calculatr. Within each f these tabs, there are specific features that are designed t help guide yu n the rad t graduatin. Tabs Features

5 Wrksheets Wrksheets is the tab fr yur Degree Wrks audit. This tab includes the What If, What If Histry and Lk Ahead features. What If The What If feature allws yu t see hw far alng yu wuld be in yur academic career if yu were t change yur majr r add a minr. Select the What If functin lcated n the left side f the audit screen under the Wrksheets tab. Use the drp dwn menus t select the catalg year, prgram, majr and cncentratin (if applicable) that yu'd like t change t r the minr yu wuld like t add. If yu are cnsidering changing yur majr, yu need t select the current catalg year. The Chse Yur Future Classes blck lcated at the bttm is an ptin that allws yu t enter curse(s) that yu anticipate t take, hwever have nt yet registered fr, t see where they wuld ppulate n yur audit. Once dne, select the Prcess What-If buttn lcated abve. This will remve the requirement blcks fr yur current majr and apply the requirement blck fr the majr yu're cnsidering r add the requirement blck fr the minr. This is nt a permanent change. Once yu g back t yur Wrksheet, the riginal requirement blcks will shw up in yur audit. If yu wuld like t frmally change yur majr r add a minr, please cmplete a Change f Majr/Minr frm and submit the apprved paperwrk t the Registrar s Office. What If Histry The What If Histry feature will allw yu t view previusly run What If evaluatins. Select the What If Histry functin lcated n the left side f the audit screen under the Wrksheets tab. Under Histric Reprt, use the drp dwn menu t select yur previus evaluatins which are srted by date and time. Once dne, select the View buttn lcated at the tp. Lk Ahead The Lk Ahead feature will allw yu t see an audit shwing curses fr which yu plan t register in future terms. Select the Lk Ahead functin lcated n the left side f the audit screen under the Wrksheets tab. Use the frm t enter the subject and curse number f each anticipated curse. Once yu have created yur list f curses, click the Prcess New buttn. Please be aware f the fllwing when utilizing the Lk Ahead feature:

6 - The classes entered are nt cnsidered in the GPA calculatin that appears n the audit reprt. - The requirements n which yur classes are placed may nt be the actual requirements where they will end up when yu actual cmplete the class and receive a grade. - Classes yu enter that are nt valid will nt be applied t any requirements and will end up in the Nt Degree Applicable sectin f the audit. Plans Under cnstructin cming sn! This tab is nly available t faculty. Ntes Under cnstructin cming sn! This tab is nly available t faculty. GPA The GPA Calculatr tab is a cnvenient way t track and plan fr yur GPA, especially if yur department has a minimum GPA requirement. This tab includes the Graduatin Calculatr, Term Calculatr and Advice Calculatr features. Graduatin Calculatr The Graduatin Calculatr feature will give yu the GPA yu need t average in yur remaining curses in rder t graduate with yur desired GPA. Please see belw fr the step by step instructins: 1. Check the upper right hand crner f yur degree blck fr credits required and credits applied. T find the number f credits remaining subtract the number f credits being applied frm the number required, excluding frm bth all Satisfactry/Unsatisfactry curses. 2. Fill in the number f credits yu have remaining in the Credits Required space and put the number f credits required fr yur degree in the Credits Required space. 3. Fill in yur desired GPA and click calculate.

7 Term Calculatr The Term Calculatr feature allws yu t prject yur pssible semester GPA based n curse infrmatin that yu self-enter. Please see belw fr step by step instructins: 1. The calculatr will list the curses marked In Prgress frm yur audit. If any f the curses listed are inaccurate, yu can add r delete them by typing directly int the bxes. If entering the curses yurself, be sure t check that the number f credits listed is crrect fr each curse because that is a crucial cmpnent in calculating yur GPA. 2. Select the grade frm the drp dwn menu that yu anticipate receiving fr each curse. 3. Click "Calculate.

8 Advice Calculatr The Advice Calculatr feature allws yu t cnfirm hw many additinal credits and grades wuld be required in rder t achieve yur desired GPA. Please see belw fr step by step instructins: 1. Yur current verall GPA and number f credits earned will autmatically ppulate. 2. Enter the GPA that yu wuld like t have. 3. Click Calculate.
