The Annual Cnference serves as incubatrs fr new ideas help us find ur way t quality educatinal experiences fr ur attendees! Tracks Annual Cnference tracks are presented n Fundatin, Intermediate, and/r Advanced levels. Our cnference is designed using eight educatinal tracks s attendees can custmize their educatinal experience. Cnference participants may select cncurrent sessins frm Principles f Vlunteer Resurces Management (fundatin t intermediate levels) cvering cre areas f vlunteer services management t Retail Operatins (all levels) prviding educatin n Hspital Gift and Retail Shp peratins. Six additinal tracks are designed in accrdance with the AHVRP natinal certificatin dmains that will nt nly enhance day- t-day peratins, but heighten career develpment. These additinal tracks assist in preparing the vlunteer resurce prfessinal fr natinal certificatin and als prvide current Certified Administratrs f Vlunteer Services (CAVS) cntinuing educatin pprtunities tward CAVS renewal. Special emphasis this year is placed n sliciting presentatins tailred t retail, hspice and Veterans Administratin audiences. These tracks include: Planning and Prgram Develpment cvers assessment, cllabratin, The Jint Cmmissin and Natinal Patient Safety Gals, strategic planning, prgram develpment, funding surces, quality imprvement, cmmunity benefit, vlunteer resurces, benchmarking and prgram evaluatin. Management f Human Resurces fcuses n recruitment, applicatin prcesses, interviewing, screening, placement, training, supervisin, evaluatin, crrective actin, mtivatin, recgnitin and retentin. 4 EDUCATION LEVEL CRITERIA Educatin Level Criteria The Annual Cnference Planning Cmmittee will cnduct a thrugh review f all submissins. All submissins are reviewed and weighed, based n merit f cntent, qualificatins f the presenter(s) cmpleteness, and timeliness. The cmmittee is respnsible fr identifying and selecting sessin cntent that delivers creative and innvative prgramming t address the prfessinal challenges f vlunteer management prfessinals, gift shp managers, vlunteer leaders, auxilians and vlunteers. The cntent fr the Annual Cnference sessins are presented at the fllwing levels fr vlunteer resurce prfessinals: Fundatin fundamentals and essentials fr thse newer t the field Intermediate cutting-edge tls, skills, knwledge fr thse experienced in the field Advanced in-depth analysis and study n a specific tpic fr the mre experienced leaders in the field Submitted prpsals fr cncurrent sessins shuld be at Intermediate and Advanced levels. The presenters shuld determine the applicable educatin level fr their sessins. Sme pints t cnsider when develping presentatins include: Familiarity with the audience(s), including: Directr f Vlunteer Services Vlunteer Gift Shp/Retail Operatins Manager Hspice Veterans Administratin Engaging and apprpriate title. 6 EVALUATION CRITERIA Evaluatin Criteria Presenters shuld nte the fllwing criteria fr participatin: AHVRP prgrams are nncmmercial frums; the direct prmtin f prducts and services is prhibited. A select amunt f spnsred sessins are available fr a fee. Cncurrent presentatins run 90 minutes and must include time fr Questins and Answers. If the prgram is selected, the primary speaker will be ntified by Wednesday, February 15, Infrmatin regarding imprtant deadlines and requirements will be prvided in an fficial cnfirmatin letter. Presenters agree: T the Presenter Benefits Plicy, i.e. guaranteed early -bird registratin rate and ne night cmpensated htel rm fr the primary presenter. The AHVRP Annual Cnference Cmmittee has final determinatin f the frmat and length f sessins. The use f cmpany r prduct lgs is prhibited. T allw AHVRP t audi tape each cncurrent sessin and understand that AHVRP will sell recrdings and has sle right t any revenues generated frm these sales. T allw AHVRP t reprduce and distribute sessin handuts t Annual Cnference attendees via electrnic and nline mediums. T gain permissin t reprduce anything cpyrighted by an rganizatin ther than AHVRP. T refrain frm vert statements, harsh language, r pinted humr that disparages the rightful dignity and scial equity f any individual r grup. T permit AHVRP t prvide cntact infrmatin t attendees upn request. T prvide handuts in electrnic frmat. If handuts are nt received by the required deadline, presenters are required t prvide printed handuts, at their wn expense, fr maximum seating in their rm. 7 GUIDELINES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS Presenters shuld be aware f the fllwing guidelines, terms and cnditins fr participatin: Prpsals must be cmplete and will nly be accepted electrnically via the nline Survey Mnkey tl and submitted by Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 11:59 pm (CST). The submissin f a presentatin des nt guarantee participatin in the prgram, nr d multiple submissins frm any ne cmpany guarantee a speaking slt fr that cmpany. Prpsals shuld nly be submitted when each presenter is available t appear n any day f the 2012 AHVRP Annual Cnference & Exhibitin, September 19-22, 2012, at the Omni Dallas Htel. The presenter submitting the prpsal serves as the Primary Sessin Cntact fr AHVRP and must have a valid address. The primary cntact is respnsible fr infrming the c-presenter(s) f the final acceptance r nn-acceptance f the sessin, all required frms, deadlines, handuts and sessin details. C-presenter(s) must agree t the terms and cnditins fr participatin. We suggest that yu first develp yur prpsed sessin in a wrd prcessing prgram such as Micrsft Wrd and then cpy and paste the infrmatin in the apprpriate sectins. Since there is n spell r grammar check functin within the nline submissin prcess, cpying and pasting will ensure greater accuracy. AHVRP strngly encurages limiting the number f speakers fr a panel presentatin t n mre than fur per sessin. Please cmplete the prpsal nce yu begin entering infrmatin. Yu will nt be able t save and cntinue later. Required fields must be cmpleted in all sectins. Incmplete prpsals will nt be cnsidered. If the prgram is selected, the 2012 AHVRP Annual Cnference Planning Cmmittee reserves the right t revise presentatin titles, reassign the identified tpic area r edit the prgram summary fr prmtinal and prgram materials. 8 The presenter is respnsible fr btaining permissins t reprint material that is cpyrighted by any rganizatin ther than AHVRP. Fr the benefit f ur attendees, AHVRP requires at least ne set f handut dcuments per selected sessin. If the sessin invlves multiple speakers, please submit a cmbined handut set. Handuts must be submitted by Wednesday, August 1, Presenters are respnsible fr bringing their wn laptps and presentatins t the cnference. Presenters must return a signed speaker agreement frm and bigraphical infrmatin by April 1 st, As part f its cntinuing educatin effrts, AHVRP may select t ffer yur presentatin as an audi cnference that may be recrded and made available t its members and ther prfessinals interested in the tpic. All participants will be required t prvide AHVRP with permissin t recrd, edit, transcribe, archive, duplicate, distribute, reprduce and sell any written r visual material submitted in cnnectin with and including the ral presentatin, delivered at this prgram, in any and all media nw existing r hereafter develped thrughut the wrld. All participants must grant this permissin in rder t be cnsidered fr participatin in AHVRP s educatinal fferings. If permissin is nt granted then the individual will be unable t participate in the meeting. Submitting a prpsal indicates understanding and acceptance f this plicy.
