3 Piccl Theatre, Inc. invites yu t be part f the 46 th annual Custer Fair! Histry In 1972, Custer Fair began n the histric Custer Avenue in Suth Evanstn. Since then, Custer Fair annually cnnects artists, craftspeple, antique dealers, restaurateurs, entertainers and the Evanstn business cmmunity with 70,000 fair-gers and has becme an award-winning Nrthshre traditin. Custer Fair is prduced by Piccl Theatre, Inc. Date and Time Custer Fair 2018 will be held n Saturday, June 16 & Sunday, June 17 frm 10am until 9pm. Vendrs are required t have their bths pen and staffed during fair hurs n Saturday and Sunday. There is n single-day registratin available n exceptins. Hurs f Operatin: 10a-7p (Washingtn St, Custer Ave, Main St.) 10a-9p (Chicag Ave) Bth Sizes Custer Ave. 10 x10 Hurs f Operatin: 10a-7p Chicag Ave. 10 x10 $1120-$1170 Hurs f Operatin: 10a-9p $1000-$1050 NOTE: Near Shw Stage Chicag Ave. 16 x16 $ NOTE: West side f street Hurs f Operatin: 10a-9p Mbile Fd Cart/Truck $425 Hurs f Operatin: Depends n lcatin FdFest vendrs may purchase multiple bths. All bths are lcated in an pen utdr area. Each FdFest applicatin includes 1 free parking space. The entire exhibit including tent and persnnel must fit inside the marked bth space. Bth fees d nt include tents, tables, chairs and ther set-up items; exhibitrs may bring their wn, r rent these items frm Custer Fair. Please see the rental infrmatin in the next clumn. Electricity is available nly in certain areas f the fair; generatrs and amplified sund are nt permitted. Entry Fees & Deadline N applicatins will be accepted after June 1, N refunds will be given after May 15, If yu withdraw frm the fair prir t May 15, 2018 yu will receive a refund f all mnies paid, minus a $50 administrative fee. Paper applicatins received after May 15, 2018 are subject t availability, and must be paid in full with mney rders, certified checks, credit cards r cash. NSF r returned checks are subject t a $25 service charge in additin t bank fees. Applicatins are prcessed n a first-cme, firs-served basis, with pririty first given t Custer Fair members. Yu must submit a $300 Cleanup Depsit check alng with yur applicatin. This check will be held until after the fair. We will give the check back t yu upn lad ut prvided yur space is left clean (i.e. any grease spilled needs t be cleaned up, all trash remved, n bxes r fd refuse left). If upn check-ut yur space is nt clean, we will depsit yur $300 depsit check. We d have dumpsters available n Madisn and near Main and Custer fr yu t thrw yur pst-event trash in. Electricity Every FdFest bth requiring electricity must purchase a 6-utlet Distr Bx. The cst fr ne bx is $125; each additinal bx is $100. Each item that uses electricity must be plugged int its wn utlet n pwer strips can be used! Additinal pwer r special plugs can be prvided at an additinal cst. Custer Fair des nt allw verlading circuits; failure t cmply will result in the immediate clsure f yur bth. Any n-site electrical wrk required due t lack f FdFest vendr planning/lack f disclsure will be billed at $100/hr (minimum f 1 hur, and in increments f 1 hur plus materials t be paid befre vendr may pen fr business.) Rentals Custer Fair ffers its exhibitrs the ability t rent tents, tables and chairs. All rented items are delivered t yur bth space; rented tents will be set up fr yu by the rental cmpany. All rental rders require a separate $100 refundable security depsit check t be sent in with the applicatin. Security depsit checks will be returned by mail by July 15, Table $25 6 Table $25 Chair $10 10 x10 Tent $300 Lad-in/Lad Out Once Custer Fair has received and prcessed yur applicatin, yu will receive a cnfirmatin within 1 week. An Exhibitr Entry Packet utlining yur assigned space, reprting time, and scheduled lad-in/ladut times will be sent after April 15, Lad-in/lad-ut times cannt be changed and must be fllwed fr safety reasns. On Saturday and Sunday, participants are required t be set up prir t 10am and remain pen during fair hurs until clsing. Vendrs n Main, Washingtn, and Custer shuld expect t bring cars n site fr lad-ut beginning at 8pm. Vendrs n Chicag Ave shuld expect t bring cars n site fr lad ut beginning at 9:30pm. There are n rain dates. Membership The annual membership is gd fr the year in which yu apply. Membership is $75 and includes the fllwing benefits: Reserved same bth space fr Custer Fair 2019 One parking permit fr ne vehicle Vendr recrd kept n file t eliminate resubmissin. Special handling privileges at n additinal cst. One free Custer Fair t-shirt.

Custer Fair FdFest Fire Safety Requirements Cmpliance with the City f Evanstn Fire & Life Safety Services is mandatry fr all FdFest vendrs. 1) A 10lb. ABC fire extinguisher shall be readily available within yur space. 2) Prpane Gas Tanks a. All cmpressed gas cylinders/tanks, such as prpane, must be secured t prevent them frm falling r accidentally being kncked ver. b. Gas cylinders/tanks must be kept ut f direct sunlight. c. All tanks must be secured in the upright psitin t ensure the transmissin f the vapr space and the relief valve. d. All tanks and cmbustibles must be at least 5 feet frm any heating surces. 3) Extensin crds a. Extensin crds must be secured s they d nt becme a trip hazard. Crds in the public way must be cvered and secured with duct tape r ther apprved prtective cverings. b. The extensin crd yu use must be rated fr its intended purpse. A standard lamp extensin crd is NOT rated fr a heating device. c. Frayed r wrn extensin crds will nt be permitted. d. NO POWER STRIPS ALLOWED. Cmpliance with the abve fire and life-safety requirements ensures a safe and fun event fr everyne. A fire inspectin may take place at any time. Any vendr nt in cmpliance is subject t an interruptin f business until the prblem is crrected. All Evanstn Health Department Applicatins must be sent t the City f Evanstn Health Department alng with a check fr $109 made payable t: The City f Evanstn. If yu have any questins regarding the Temprary Fd Permit, call the Evanstn Health Department at (847) , r nline: Parking & Security Each FdFest applicant is prvided with 1 free parking space. Additinal parking permits are available fr a $50 fee. Exhibitrs wh are members r have purchased parking will receive a parking pass with the Exhibitr Packet, including parking lt entrance gate lcatins and times. Parking passes must be displayed in the frnt windw f yur vehicle upn entering the fairgrunds. Vehicles in vilatin f parking regulatins will be ticketed and twed. Street parking is als available arund the fairgrunds, but is in shrt supply during the weekend f the fair. If yu have a handicap placard, please call the ffice s that we can ensure access t a designated parking spt.

6 FdFest Vendr Operatins Agreement After reading each item, please sign, date, and submit with yur applicatin t indicate that yu have read the terms f agreement. Custer Fair cannt hnr incmplete applicatins. Custer Fair determines perating rules and prcedures based n ur permits and regulatins set frth by city rdinance t prvide a chesive well-managed event; t prvide fr the safety and prtectin f attendees/participants; and t prtect the public space frm und harm r damage. Custer Fair expects all vendrs t bserve the perating rules. As a FdFest vendr at Custer Fair, I understand and will adhere t all perating rules and prcedures as listed/initialed belw, and ther regulatins that may be determined at a later date: My bth will be pen fr business during all hurs as set by Custer Fair. This is an utdr event. It is my respnsibility t prepare fr weather cntingencies. Custer Fair executive staff determine at what pint bths may need t clse. If using a tent, I will attach sufficient weight n all crners f my tent t prevent my tent frm becming a danger in high winds. I want t prtect my investment, the investment f ther vendrs arund me and prtect the safety f the public, fellw exhibitrs, and Custer Fair staff.
