The distinctin between Retired and Emeritus status are described belw. Certificants wh wuld like t apply fr ne f the status shuld review the requirements and cmplete the frm belw, and submit cmpleted frm and fees. Retired Status The retired status is fr any active certificant wh has decided t leave active emplyment in the Bimedical field, but wishes t maintain his/her certificatin in Clinical Engineering. The certificant will need t make a frmal applicatin t the Bard f Examiners fr their review alng with a netime payment f $100. As part f the applicatin the certificant will need t include current persnal data, last emplyer data, and will recncile any pending matter befre the Bard. The Bard will research the infrmatin prvided and send a timely cmmunicatin t the requestr acknwledging his/her acceptance r the need t address discrepancies. Once granted, the Retired status will cntinue t apply t the certificant. The retired status f certified clinical engineer shall be listed as CCE-R, and is nt recgnized as an active CCE. If the certificant is in a retired status and wishes t revert back t an active status, they will need t make a frmal submissin f the CCE Renewal applicatin including Cntinuing Educatin and Prfessinal Activities diary and the current fee fr remaining in active CCE status. Applicants must meet the pint values utlined in the renewal prcess and shuld reflect the previus three (3) years frm the date f renewal applicatin. A written r ral exam is nt required. The activity diary and applicatin will be reviewed by the Bard f Examiners fr determinatin f status reversin t active. Emeritus Status The emeritus status is fr any active certificant wh has decided t retire frm full-time emplyment in the bimedical engineering field and has met qualificatins fr lifetime achievement: Have 30 r mre ttal years when adding up the number f certified years and the number f years actively wrking in the Bimedical Engineering field. OR Shw at least a cntinuus listing f fifteen r mre years f active certificatin. The certificant will need t make a frmal applicatin t the Bard f Examiners fr their review. It will cntain his/her/ current persnal data and the last emplyer data. N fee r dues will be required t maintain this status and will remain with the certificant fr the rest f his/her life. The emeritus status f certified clinical engineer shall be lised as CCE-E, and is nt recgnized as an active CCE

3 Applicatin Prcess: The applicatin t CCE-R r CCE-E may be submitted at any time the individual retires frm the field. Payment: The applicatin fee fr retired status is a ne time fee f $100.
