Hazus 4.1 Will be a full version not just a patch Primarily addressing Defects and a couple enhancements Key items Datum and Projection System Design changing NAD83 to WGS84 to cover the globe Address issues with CDMS Improve backwards compatibility with current and previous Hazus versions Update GSRs to ensure the results match tables Improve damage function selection for Coastal A, V or Riverine Repair Coastal Flood model to enable it to run completely Fix Essential Facility results in coastal and surge areas Restore Fire Following in earthquake Correct UDF Inventory results Fix Business Interruption Calculation Will not be supported on ArcGIS 10.5 Release: September 11,

User Survey To inform some upcoming decisions, a user survey is being considered Possible survey questions include: How does your organization create points for input into Hazus (User-Defined Facilities, Essential Facilities, etc.)? (A) Centroid of Building Footprint, (B) Centroid of Parcel, (C) Somewhere on Building Footprint Based on Hazard Location, or (D) Other? How does your organization collect building footprint data? (A) Digitized Imagery, (B) Survey, or (C) It Does Not. If digitized, what is the locational accuracy? (A) <1m, (B) 1-3m, (C) 3-10m, or (D) >10m? Do you use pipeline data? Yes/No. If so, what is the accuracy of the data? What flood data does your organization use for Hazus? (A) Use the Hazus generated floodplain, (B) flood depth grid from engineering study, (C) FEMA DFIRM with floodplain polygon and base flood elevations using GIS tools or FIT, or (D) Floodplain polygon and DEM using Enhanced Quick Look? What earthquake data does your organization use for Hazus? (A) USGS ShakeMap, (B) Hazus probabilistic, (C) Hazus source or historical, (D) All of the above, (D) Other? 6

Hazus User Conference Charleston, SC October More details will be provided in the coming weeks 7

Current R3 Hazus Related Projects and Info Coastal Flood Loss Atlas (CFLA) refresh is ongoing at this time with a expected completion time of mid-summer. The Oak Ridge National Lab Building/Structure Extraction Project (BFS) UPDATE: DE The 2017 update of Hazus Estimated Annualized Earthquake Losses for the United States has been released! This project was a collaboration by FEMA,USGS, and the Pacific Disaster Center. 8

Hazus-MH Analyses for City of Beverly, MA Hazard Mitigation Plan Update (Flood UDF) James Mawby, CFM, Hazus Practitioner

City of Beverly, MA 15 Miles NE of Boston

Approach Review Previous Plan (2011) Flooding: Hazus not utilized Technical difficulty cited Rough Approximation Method Employed Hurricane: Hazus Utilized Review Available Data Existing FEMA Non-Regulatory (Map Svc. Cntr) Parcel & Assessor Attributes ( 13,000 Parcels) Building Roofprints ( 14,500) Determine Feasibility UDF (Yes or No) Update GBS Flood Depth Grid Approaches

Review Available Data (Flood Focus) Parcel & Assessor Attributes Assigning Occupancy Field BLDG_TYPE 93% of Remaining 7% (884) Buildings on stacked parcels & a few others Develop combinations such as Apt 4-8 = RES3? (RES3B or RES3C) and UNIT = Number of Units. However not fool-proof as it represented in a number of cases the total number of units on a single parcel having multiple buildings thus requiring Occupancy adjustments. Assigning Building Type Field FRAME 93% Remaining 7% mostly ROW s, Sheds, Detached Garages Assigning Foundation Type Field BSMT_AREA 78% Assign Slab to most others

Review Available Data (Flood) Continued First-floor Heights Combinations per Foundation & Field YEAR_BUILT_1 (i.e., Year Updated or Remodeled) otherwise by Field YEAR_BUILT (Original Construction) Computing Cost (RS Means 2006 CPI Adjusted to 2017) Cost per Square-Foot (per Field FIN_AREA ) Basement Adjustment (per Fields BSMT_AREA and FIN_BSMT ) Garage Adjustment (per Field ATT_GAR ) # Of Bays Estimated per Area Ranges» < 324 ft 2 = 1» 504 ft 2 = 2» 713 ft 2 = 3» > 713 ft 2 = 4

Future Considerations Approach Implications: Hazus Floodplain Delineation(s) vs dfirm Drawback as the Hazus delineations, even at 1 mi 2 do not delineate the upstream potential within the interior of the community. Potentially an additional 307 UDF Points Intersect dfirm. Development of UDF Benefit as the incorporation of Parcel/Rooftop Data is leveraged and staged for any additional Flood-based Analyses. Addition of refined depth grids is now all that is needed to improve analyses.

Potential dfirm-based UDF Risk (307 Bldgs)
