3 1 Scpe 1.1 This perating prcedure prvides a prcess fr Cntractrs r Third Parties wh are cntracted t undertake wrk fr r n behalf f Iarnród Éireann (IE), t apply fr Cntractr PTS Inductin training. 1.2 Pre- Curse Requirements: Primarily, nly cmpanies wh are cntracted t wrk fr Iarnród Éireann are eligible t nminate peple t attend this curse. Hwever, the exceptin t this rule is fr cmpanies, wh are nt cntracted by IE, that are required t carry ut wrk n r near the line, such as Cunty Cuncils and ESB, etc Attendees f each cmpany must be passed medically fit t the standard (Level 3) specified by Iarnród Éireann Chief Medical Officer (CMO): The prcess fr arranging a medical assessment is shwn in Engineering Quality Management System Operating Prcedure ENG-QMS Medical Fitness Standard fr Persnal Track Safety Certificatin Cnfirmatin f medical fitness must be received by the Training Centre prir t the cnfirmed training date Attendees must be at least 18 years f age. In the case that attendees are nt 18 years f age e.g. apprentices, please cntact the Training Centre Inchicre Attendees must have a wrking knwledge f English Individuals (nt emplyed by a cmpany t wrk n behalf f IE r wrking fr a cmpany required t carry ut wrk n r near the line, such as Cunty Cuncils and ESB, etc) are nt permitted t attend PTS inductin training. 1.3 Training Requests An average f 6 curses per perid are scheduled (4 Inchicre, 1 Athlne, 1 Limerick Junctin) subject t change. Cntact the Training Centre Inchicre fr availability by e- mail at cntractr.pts@irishrail.ie Requests fr additinal r ad hc training must be kept t a minimum The training curse is delivered thrugh English Cnsideratin must be given t cmpanies frm nn-english speaking cuntries wh are cntracted by IE fr specialist wrk. In this instance the Cntractr/ Third Party and/r IE prject manager must present a business case fr a dispensatin fr the attendees t have a gd wrking knwledge f English. Once apprved by the Head f Engineering Safety and/r Head f Strategy/ HR training may be delivered by using an interpreter, the Cntractr/ Third Party must bear all additinal assciated csts. 4 2 Implementatin 2.1 An applicatin frm as shwn in Appendix 1 must be submitted t the Training Centre t enable registratin fr training The frm can be btained frm the Training Centre. 2.2 APPLICATION PROCESS: Once a prvisinal training date is ffered (recrded n the Cntractr Bking Spreadsheet) ensure that the fllwing are psted r ed t the cmpany: Cntractr PTS Inductin- Curse Registratin Frm Medical Reprt New Custmer Frm (if required) IE Bank Details (if required) The fllwing must be returned t the Training Centre prir t the prvisinal training date ffered Cntractr PTS Inductin- Curse Registratin Frm Medical Reprt Payment 2.3 PAYMENT PROCESS: Per persn fee f Payment is by Electrnic Fund Transfer (EFT), Cmpany Cheque, Bank Draft r Pstal Order made payable t Iarnród Éireann If payment is by EFT, the Training Centre will supply IE bank details t the Cntractr r Third Party Persnal r third party cheques, i.e. FAS r Dept f Scial Welfare, are nt acceptable Payment must be received by the Training Centre prir t the cnfirmed training date Where payment is nt cnfirmed prir t the training taking place, individuals will nt be permitted t attend.
