2 Mission & Impact Statements Mission The mission of the Gallatin Senior Citizens Center is to provide services to promote a better lifestyle and encourage independent living for senior citizens, thru social events, communal meals, exercise and educational and informational seminars. Background Since our inception in 1979, our center has been a safe place to meet and spend time with other seniors and participate in programs at low or no cost. The public may attend as well and many people come for lunch as well as many of our programs and special events such as our dances and Bingo etc. All are welcome. Come in for a visit and see how much fun we have!! Impact This past year we increased attendance, nearly doubled oput attendees, secured one time funding for a kitchen and main dining room facelift, and updated part of our computer system. In the next year or so as finances allow, we will continue to update our computers, replace other parts of our kitchen appliances and continue to provide and safe and enjoyable place for our seniors. Needs 1) van that will be able to transport people and be driven by a center rep. with a standard license. The van will enable us to do local affordable trips for our seniors. $40,000 2) new computers and 2 high capacity wireless printers. 3) steamer stations and some other cooking equipment for kitchen.(costs to be posted asap) 4) financial donations that can be applied as needs arise Other ways to donate, support, or volunteer You may donate by check, by cash (in person please- do not mail cash). You may donate to us via United Way payroll deduction. Gift cards for grocery stores, Walmart gift cards. Kroger Community Rewards program so when you shop Kroger, Kroger donates a % of what is spent to our center.(no COST to you). Our ID# for the Kroger Community Rewards is Please call to join and help our center. If you shop thru Amazon.com - you may also go to Amazon Smile -- then sign into your amazon account and pick The Gallatin Senior Citizens Center as the charity you choose to receive.5% of your eligible purchases. We accept donations Monday-Friday of clothing and household items at our thrift store. CEO Statement Many of our seniors have related their personal stories reflecting that coming to our center has helped them in many ways, from having a place to be with friends, to giving them a purpose in volunteering here, to know someone cares and will check on them if they don't show up, and the most powerful is that they felt they have a 2

3 family at our center that helped them get thru family loss and tragedies. One lady told me recently that her day is not complete unless she comes to the center and gets all her hugs from her new friends. 3

4 Programs Programs Lunch and social programs Description We offer lunch meals(offered free if someone cannot afford it), seminars on personal and financial security, social programs such as monthly dances, monthly casino trips, card games, craft making, Low Impact Exercise, Zumba and Line Dance classes.
