2 Mission & Impact Statements Mission Spring Back Recycling provides a sustainable business model to organizations that serve the disenfranchised through job creation and that benefits the environment through waste diversion. Impact - Licensed new Spring Back operations in Tacoma, WA, Charlotte, NC and Salt Lake City, UT- Recycled over 100,000 mattresses and box springs- Provided meaningful employment for 15+ second-chance workers Needs - Financial support for central administration of our national network- Industry connections with potential retail, hospitality, and waste management partners- Licensing partners willing to further our mission in new communities Service Categories Primary Organization Category Environment / Recycling Secondary Organization Category Employment / Vocational Rehabilitation Areas of Service Areas Served TN - Davidson Based in Nashville, TN, Spring Back was created to serve the Middle TN area as a recycling solution for mattresses and box springs, a waste stream that local landfills find difficult to manage. We have now grown to offer that same service across the country in Denver, CO, Tacoma, WA, Charlotte, NC, and Salt Lake City, UT. 2

3 Programs Programs Mattress Recycling Description Spring Back Recycling fully recycles old mattresses by disassembling each unit and selling or distributing its component parts (metal, foam, wood) to scrap buyers, replacing centuries of decomposition in landfills with an immediate use in the economy. In our waste diversion efforts, Spring Back also pursues a social mission of providing employment to disenfranchised men looking to spring back into society.
