2 Other ways to donate support, or volunteer Donations to South Central CASA of Oklahoma (formerly Cleveland County CASA) can be mailed to our agency at: P.O. Box 1714, rman, OK If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with South Central CASA, please visit our website or call the office to request details about upcoming training opportunities. Statements Mission The mission of South Central CASA of Oklahoma, Inc. is to recruit, screen, train, and supervise volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who have been abused or neglected. When a child becomes the subject of a deprived proceeding under Title 10A of the Oklahoma Children's Code, a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) may be appointed at the request of a party or based on the judge's determination that the child would benefit from advocacy by a third-party. It is the goal of South Central CASA to provide a trained volunteer for every child involved in a deprived proceeding in Cleveland, Garvin, and McClain Counties. Background South Central CASA was established as Cleveland County CASA in October of It was Oklahoma's first CASA organization, founded on the principle that a trained community volunteer could provide an unbiased, well-researched opinion on best interests that would ensure better outcomes for a vulnerable child. With the support of the presiding juvenile judge in Cleveland County, the organization has thrived for 34 years. Impact In 2017, South Central CASA served 262 children in Cleveland, Garvin, and McClain Counties. It is our goal to make a trained volunteer available for every child by 2020, which will require the recruitment and training of at least 200 additional volunteers. Needs When a community faces difficult economic times, the risk of child abuse and neglect rises. South Central CASA is in need of volunteers and monetary support in order to fulfill its mission of providing trained community volunteers to children in need. A donation of $7.50 provides for the printing of 50 court reports. $25 provides for 50 miles driven by a volunteer advocate. With a contribution of $90, South Central CASA can send a volunteer for continuing education by the Oklahoma CASA Association. Every dollar counts. CEO/Executive Director Statement South Central CASA of Oklahoma has served the people of Cleveland County for more than 30 years. It is our mission not only to serve children, but also to provide members of the community with the opportunity to make a difference. Whether by volunteering or by making a financial contribution in support of our efforts, you can personally ensure that the most vulnerable among us are made safe, healthy, and happy. Contributions may include foundations and corporations when the breakout was not available. te: Contributions from Oklahoma CASA Association and United Way are listed as Indirect Public Support. Also, the Admin and Fundraising expenses are not broken out on the Form 990 nor are they on the audited financial statements for FY2015 and FY2016. The financial information presented is obtained from the following sources: IRS Form 990, independent audit reports, financial statements board approved when available, and supplemental information from the organization.
