3 LTAHS Update: Visin and Themes Cnsultatins launched n April 14, 2015 and cncluded n July 3, 2015 A shrt cnsultatin dcument was released as part f the cnsultatin launch, with questins based n the fur themes f the LTAHS Update MMAH received ver 110 stakehlder submissins during the cnsultatin perid and attended 38 meetings and cnsultatin sessins Ministry f Husing

4 LTAHS Update: Cnsultatin Themes Analysis f the stakehlder submissins and public feedback received as part f the LTAHS Update cnsultatins, identified in a number f themes: Need t increase the supply f affrdable husing Need t update/refrm the current Rent-Geared-t-Incme system Make husing assistance prtable, nt tied t a specific husing unit Streamline access t husing and supprt services as it is t cmplicated fr clients Expand access t supprt services s it is easily available t tenants receiving husing assistance Mre mney is needed t maintain and/r increase the supply f affrdable husing Service Managers and husing prviders need better data There is a need fr a dedicated Indigenus husing strategy Ministry f Husing

5 2016 Ontari Budget & LTAHS Annuncement The release f the Ontari Budget indicated that, as part f the LTAHS Update, ur gvernment will: Bring frward prpsed legislative and regulatry changes t increase the supply and sustainability f affrdable husing; The LTAHS Update was released n March 14, 2016 identifying an investment f $178 mil ver 3 years t prvide husing subsidies and benefits which will include: Supprt fr the cnstructin f up t 1,500 new supprtive husing units ver the lng term; Develp a framewrk fr a prtable husing benefit and transfrmatin f scial and supprtive husing prgrams/systems t ensure that peple get the help they need, where and hw they need it; up t $100 mil. fr husing allwances and supprt services t assist up t 4,000 families and individuals in supprtive husing ver the next 3 years Adpt key steps t end chrnic hmelessness, including planning t require enumeratin at the lcal level t gather data abut hmelessness; and Develp a husing strategy specific t Indigenus peples. $45 millin ver 3 years t enhance the Cmmunity Hmelessness Preventin Initiative $20 millin ver 2 years t pilt a new prtable husing benefit that wuld ffer mre ptins fr thse fleeing dmestic vilence, benefiting apprximately 1000 husehlds. $2.5 mill. t create a Capacity Building Fund t supprt research, evaluatin and capacity building initiatives Ministry f Husing
