Reprt The seminar was divided int three parts: In the pening speeches Elena Fatulva (representative f rganiser GWP Slvakia) and Jana Prva (representative f hsting institute SHMU) welcmed the participants and infrmed them abut the intentins and bjectives f the seminar. In the secnd part f the seminar the basic infrmatin n IDMP was prvided by Elena Fatulva. She infrmed abut the verall structure f the prject, activities, cuntry respnsibilities fr the individual activities, timetable. The mre detailed infrmatin was prvided n the activities which are under the respnsibility f Slvakia (mainly activity 1.2, 2.1 including Slvak case study and activity 2.2). One part f the presentatin was fcused n explanatin f the drught risk management, legal framewrk, actins taken n the EK level, existing strategic and methdlgical dcuments. The main stress during the expert sessin was put n the Slvak case study. The representatives frm SHMU presented in the fur cntributins the results f the preliminary assessment f the chsen hydrlgical indicatrs (precipitatin, evaptranspiratin, water flw, grundwater level) during the years 2011 and 2012 (the last drught event). The representative f VUPOP presented the utputs f the drught assessment during the years 2011/2012 n the basis f water balance and impact n agriculture. During the discussin the additinal infrmatin was prvided n the demnstratin prject fcused n the natural small retentin measures and Slvak experience (mstly negative) 3

4 gained in the past within the revitalizatin prject fcused n flds (currently stpped). The participants were infrmed that VUPOP (fcal pint fr Cnventin Cmbat Diversificatin and Drught) has develped the draft f the Natinal Actin Plan, which is being updated. Additinal infrmatin was prvided n the prject activities and future steps. The stress was put n the invlvement f ther key stakehlders (nature prtectin institutins, NGO). Als sme recmmendatins fr data cllectin were prvided by the participants. 4. Cnclusins Outcme f the public cnsultatin: - The participants welcmed an initiative f GWP CEE fcused n drught, activities included in IDMP and intentin t slve this prblem in cperatin with the Central and Eastern Eurpe cuntries, - The representatives f the participated institutins expressed their supprt fr the prject activities and prmised t prvide an expert assistance (cnsultatins, data, cmments), - On the basis f the presented data frm the assessment f the last drught event (2011/2012) prvided by SHMU and VUPOP and their wn bservatins, drught is cnsidered as a relevant issue. Therefre the drught shuld be included int the planning prcess with the aim t prepare Drught Management Plan as an additinal plan t the River Basin Management Plans in accrdance with Water Framewrk Directive. - There were identified the strengths and weaknesses f the drught management planning prcess as fllws: strength - hydrlgical mnitring data, prfessinal experience f the key institutins (SHMU, VUPOP, universities), weaknesses insufficient plitical will t slve the drught prblem, missing drught impact data n the ecnmic sectrs, identificatin f the key stakehlders and their crdinatin by the cmpetent authrity, exchange f the infrmatin amng individual institutins, lack f knwledge n the integrated water resurce management and integrated drught risk management, public participatin in the planning prcess during the prductin f RBMP and DMP. Prpsals fr further steps: - T take int accunt drught impact n the nature and in this cnnectin arrange cntacts 4

5 with the state nature prtectin institutins, - T send written applicatin t the Ministry f the Envirnment asking infrmatin and data n drught impacts n water supply, eclgical status f surface water bdies, mrtality f fishes caused by drught, - T arrange the next seminar at the beginning f June 2014 with the aim t present results f the Slvak case study and draft f the Guidelines fr develpment f the Drught Management Plan. 5
