The incumbent is directly respnsible fr the accurate and timely credit prvisining crdinatin, calculatins, and prcess acrss the Bank s peratins and is respnsible fr supprting the Directr n the reprting n prvisining and lan lss expense (LLE) t the senir executive team, risk executives (including Chief Risk Officer and the Chief Credit Officer), regulatrs and ther relevant internal and external stakehlders. The incumbent will als be respnsible fr crdinating with the stakehlders related t prvisining such as Special Lans and Client Credit Management i.e. (the Recveries Departments) n recmmending the list f nn-perfrming lans t be written ff fr apprval. The Assciate Directr, Risk Analytics is respnsible fr the review f the accuracy f histrical lan and securities data frm surce systems alng with macrecnmic data in the mdel applicatin fr the purpse f frecasting default variables such as prbability f default and lss given default rates t assist in the impairment prvisin exercise fr lans and securities. In additin, the incumbent is als respnsible fr reviewing the plausibility f the selected mdels t be run in the mdel applicatin with the bjective f supprting plausible mdels fr determinatin f frward lking indicatrs f default t assist with the impairment calculatins fr lans and securities. The Assciate Directr cntributes t the effective risk management f the lending prtflis by wrking clsely with Finance t perfrm the activities that supprt the credit & lan lss frecasting planning prcess fr the varius lending prtflis. The incumbent will recmmend fr apprval t the Directr Risk Services methds t imprve risk analytics t supprt timelier, mre detailed and segmented results fr decisin making purpses with respect t strategies and targets fr credit grwth. The Assciate Directr is als respnsible fr reviewing the credit stress testing framewrk and methdlgy in cllabratin with the Senir Manager Risk Plicy and Prjects fr submissin t the Directr Risk Services; practively assists with the develpment f the enterprise stress testing framewrk; and successfully mnitrs the credit risk stress testing impact n capital adequacy. 2 incumbent will review the credit stress testing results and their impact n capital adequacy and prvide a reprt nward t the Directr Risk Services fr sign-ff. The Assciate Directr is respnsible fr actively assisting in managing special r key risk initiatives and / r prjects led by the Senir Manager, Risk Plicy & Prjects n behalf f the Risk grup as well as fr the upkeep and any enhancements recmmended by the business stakehlders and / r regulatrs as it pertains t FCIB s Basel s internal capital adequacy assessment prcess (ICAAP). In additin, the incumbent is respnsible fr reviewing the maintenance f the annual FCIB risk register update. The Assciate Directr must supprt team effectiveness and emplyee engagement and is required t prvide the required leadership t direct reprts by establishing clear gals and bjectives and by mnitring prgress against expected results, supprting peple develpment and prmting a culture f penness, trust, respect, equity, and cllabratin.. The incumbent supprts the Directr, Risk Services in the executin f the varied respnsibilities acrss Risk Services and Risk grup as a whle. Key Accuntabilities: Impairment prvisins assessment and expense management- Respnsible fr reviewing the quarterly impairment prvisining fr lans (including truble debt restructures) and securities prcesses and calculatins acrss the FCIB banking grup whilst ensuring that these prcesses cntinue t run smthly and are executed n time in cllabratin with the ther stakehlders in the prcesses including Finance, Client Credit Management, Special Lans and Treasury. Respnsible fr reviewing the list f nn-perfrming lans (NPLs) and / r securities where applicable t be written-ff fllwing the cmpletin f each quarterly prvisining exercise r ther frequency as agreed. Wrks very clsely with the Recveries Department in the Bank and supprts the Directr Risk Services in the presentatin f reprts and analyses highlighting the impact f impairment prvisins acrss the Grup t senir leadership, executive management and High Risk Cmmittee by territry and prduct type; whilst ensuring wrsening trends are accurately and timely highlighted fr discussin and decisin making purpses. Reviews the cmparisn between the regulatry impairment prvisins per territry t the internatinal financial reprting standards and where applicable; recmmending the necessary adjustments as prescribed by regulatins r guidelines. Lss Frecasting and Management- Crdinates with internal stakehlders during the annual frecasting budgetary exercise with emphasis n reviewing the calculatins f estimated impairment prvisins fr lans and securities alng with assciated prvisin expenses as part f feeding int the annual plans and frecasted financial statements. Respnsible fr reviewing and signing ff n the reprts and analyses supprting the evaluatins f any material variances between budgeted and actual year t date impairment prvisining. Reviews the assessment f alternative lss frecasting tls and techniques fr use within the Department as part f prmting mre effective and efficient ways n evaluating the budgeted lsses and prvides results / recmmendatins nward fr cnsideratin and apprval. Credit Risk Mdels Management In cllabratin with CIBC perfrms the required credit risk parameter reviews (annually at a minimum) and recmmends changes as apprpriate t reflect current business cnditins as well as pragmatic judgment with respect t the reasnableness f the numbers; presents recmmendatins t FCIB senir management and ther relevant internal stakehlders. 3 Reviews the maintenance f all credit risk and supprting mdels / methdlgies fr impairment prvisining and credit risk stress testing and submits recmmendatins fr adptin t the Directr, Risk Services. Utilises statistical techniques such as univariate, multi-variate, decisin trees, machine learning and regressin analysis t develp and imprve credit risk mdels. Respnsible fr the review and apprval f the mdels selected t be run in the mdel applicatin with the bjective f supprting plausible mdels fr determinatin f frward lking indicatrs f default t assist with the impairment calculatins fr lans and securities. Mdel vetting and validatin: Respnsible fr ensuring transparency and integrity arund mdeling prcesses and practively manages the end t end prcess f validatin f existing r new in scpe mdels t meet the changing business bjectives. Respnsible fr the independent validatin f thse mdels and the mdel cmpnents in scpe which are nt principally used within the Risk Analytics team within Risk Services (such as the example - screcards mdels) in cllabratin with CIBC validatin unit where applicable; and reviews the dcumented results f the mdel validatin t supprt the mitigatin f mdel risk. Respnsible fr ensuring due diligence prcesses are fllwed whereby mdels, appraches and methdlgies related t risk tls are reviewed and apprved in cllabratin with parent cmpany s CIBC validatin unit. Respnsible fr ensuring that the mdels being develped r emplyed fr use within the Risk Analytics team in Risk Services are apprpriately reviewed in rder t allw fr independent validatin either thrugh CIBC validatin unit r ther apprved party. General Risk Services Oversight Activities- Supprts the Directr, Risk Services in the nging imprvement f the risk analytics, prvisining frecasting; lan and securities prvisining prcesses; credit risk stress testing; crdinatin f the enterprise wide stress testing framewrk; mdel validatin and gvernance; and related analyses and reprting derived frm such activities identified. Leads the develpment f and reviews prpsals / business cases fr new and revised system implementatin that will enhance credit risk management functinality by perfrming in-depth analysis f intended benefits versus csts. Making recmmendatin t Directr, Risk Services fr apprval. Respnsible fr the develpment and maintenance f all risk plicies, framewrks, prcedures, guidelines and methdlgies pertaining t prvisining; mdel validatin; prvisin f risk analytical supprt; and stress testing. Supprts the Directr Risk Services in researching and keeping abreast f emerging trends and r issues pertinent t the unit s mandate alng with changes in lcal, reginal and internatinal regulatry best practices and accunting standards relative t credit risk stress testing, enterprise stress testing and impairment prvisining. Supprts a sund cntrl envirnment within the team thrugh mnitring adherence t internal practices and prcedures. ICAAP and Stress Testing Reprting, Ecnmic Capital Respnsible fr the develpment and enhancement f FCIB s reprting including capability with-respect-t Basel reprting including enterprise-wide credit risk stress testing and the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Prcess (ICAAP). Respnsible fr develping / enhancing and implementing credit risk stress testing methdlgy, prcedures and standards as well as related wrk with CIBC s Parameters & Mdels team n the FCIB stress testing mdels. 4 presents FCIB s ICAAP and Credit Risk Stress Testing results including liaising with regulatrs as required. In cllabratin with Strategy team, participates in the develpment f reginal macrecnmic scenaris fr prtfli stress testing. Actively researches and analyses evlving industry best practices in stress testing. As requested by the Directr-Risk Services assist with the research int the verall Ecnmic Capital mdel currently in use at FCIB with the aim t recmmend imprvements and better use f this mdel in FCIB s decisin making. Wrks as a practive partner with Finance in the develpment f a mre rbust ecnmic capital methdlgy fr credit, market and peratinal risk capital and expected lsses. Risk Management Analytics Supprt Manages, crdinates and reviews the updating f FCIB s risk register update n an annual basis r mre frequent perid as required; and recmmends nward t the Directr Risk Services. Leads the review and versight prcess fr the back-testing f varius risk mdels and assciated assumptins in scpe t supprt adequacy and suitability f assumptins and methdlgies. Prvides fcused analysis f data attributes t understand patterns and ffer insights t maximise custmer lifetime revenue thrugh risk mitigatin, prduct imprvements / develpment, higher acceptance, and early cllectins. Cllabrates and supprts Prtfli Management in data mining activities and user acceptance testing alng with researching new slutins t enhance their analytical capabilities. Respnsible fr the develpment and implementatin f a mechanism fr cnducting nging, enterprise-wide, prtfli management analysis t assist with stress test mdelling at FCIB t mnitr FCIB s risk return acrss all prduct platfrms. Extensive wrking knwledge f the banking industry activities as it pertains t credit risk sufficient t develp creative and innvative slutins t cmplex prcess issues. Knwledge f the reginal and internatinal ecnmic envirnment t enhance stress tests. Strng verall risk management knwledge (bth quantitative and qualitative risk cnsideratins and factrs) in a banking envirnment. Gd knwledge n Basel requirements fr systemically imprtant financial institutins (SIFIs) as it relates t capital adequacy. Knwledge f risk, financial and management reprting systems in rder t surce necessary infrmatin fr analysis and management reprting purpses. Seven (7) years r mre prven management experience in a financial institutin. Five (5) r mre years risk management experience in a financial institutin. At least 5 years mdelling r reviewing f mdeling results and risk analytics preferred. Five (5) years r mre peple management experience required.
