10 About the Georgia SJ Team The Georgia Silver Jackets team brings individuals from different agencies and fields of expertise together to facilitate collaboration, share information, and leverage resources to identify areas in the State that are at risk of flooding. The Georgia Silver Jackets team is a one-stop shop for city, county, and state governments to obtain information and identify solutions to reduce flood hazards and risks. 10

14 Flood Forecast Inundation Mapping along the Chattahoochee River This is a collaborative effort with the Silver Jackets Team, the City of Atlanta, Fulton County, and Cobb County to create a library of flood inundation maps along the Chattahoochee River from Morgan Falls Dam to the junction of Peachtree Creek and the Chattahoochee River. Detailed maps will be prepared to show the predicted area and depth of forecast flooding to emergency managers and the general public in near real-time during a flooding event at selected sites. These maps will fill in gaps by providing information in a readily available and comprehensive way and encourage communities to create a severe weather plan to address future flood risks. These maps use high resolution digital elevation data, including LiDAR, and the updated hydrodynamic modeling. The maps will be displayed on the NWS AHPS and USGS websites. 14

20 Macon Levee Flood Protection Project The Macon, GA levee system protects 2,900 acres of the city consisting of commercial, industrial, municipal, and agricultural properties. No residential properties. The levee system is designated as a high risk. Macon Levee is not accredited by FEMA This study plans to prepare a rough order of magnitude cost estimate to build the levee to meet FEMA accreditation criteria (100-year + 3 FB) 20
