3 GENERAL PRICE LIST These prices are effective As of October 1, 2018 You may choose only the items you desire. If you are charged for items you did not specifically request, we will explain the reason for the charges on the written memorandum. Please note that there may be charges for items such as: Death Certificates, Flowers, Cemetery Fees, Newspaper Notices or other Products & Services. PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND It is your right and our desire that you have as much information as possible regarding the cost of services that we offer. The most significant factors determining cost is the time spent by our personnel and the use of funeral home facilities. Personnel and facilities must be available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Much of what we do is apparent, and some is not. Traditions, social customs, personal feelings, tastes, and a multitude of other factors affect each funeral. Our services must conform to each family s personal wishes and religious, emotional and financial needs. Our fixed overhead expenses are our monthly bills totaled for the year and divided by the number of services planned each year and based on the type of service we provide. Our overhead expenses include taxes, employee salaries, building maintenance, capital improvements, stationery supplies, advertising & promotions, utilities, heat, telephone, electricity, yard maintenance, and insurance fire, theft, liability, automobile, casualty, and workman s compensation. Meeting with the family to secure vital statistic information, obtain physician s signature, file the death certificate with the registrar of vital statistics in the municipality where the death occurred, obtaining permits for burial or cremation and obtaining as many certified copies of the death certificate as necessary for the family s needs. Obtaining obituary information and transmitting that information to all newspapers requested by the family. Complete all necessary forms for selected services such as: Veterans Benefits, Social Security forms, and Insurance Claims. Coordinate times of the following services as needed: the clergy, cemetery, crematory, fraternal lodges or other organizations, military honors and others responsible for the final disposition of the deceased. Oversee all aspects of the funeral including conducting the funeral service according to the family s wishes, staff available to supervise the funeral service and / or visitation, give out funeral information to family, associates, florists and friends, use of chapel or equipment for church service as needed, and arranging and care of flowers for best appearance. Complete cost, depreciation, maintenance and operation for our hearses, limousines, sedans, and other vehicles needed for the families we serve. 4 CASH ADVANCE ITEMS This represents items that may have to be paid in advance separately. These items include: Certified copies of the death certificates: Certified copies in Texas are $21.00 for the first copy and $4.00 for each additional copy. Certified copies in Louisiana are $18.00 for first copy and $7.00 each additional. Second Trip to process a death certificate fee is $ plus the additional cost. Newspaper notices: The local newspaper provides for a paid obituary which may include biographical information, survivors, service information, memorial contribution information, and a photograph. We will also be glad to place obituaries in out-of-town newspapers at your request. These newspapers may have a charge, which will be billed to the family. Some other cash advance items are: police escorts, flowers, crematory fees, additional transportation, catering, lodging, honorariums and other products and services. PRE-ARRANGEMENT & PRE-PAID FUNERAL PLANS Winnfield Funeral Homes offer two types of pre-arrangement plans. You may prepay for the services in advance which freezes the cost on the items you selected. The cost will never change. You may also pre-arrange the services you desire before the death takes place and not pay anything in advance. In this case the cost may change in the future. OUR PAYMENT POLICY To lose someone you love is a devastating human experience. It can be traumatic and seriously impact one s judgment. Therefore, it is important to be realistic with respect to funeral expenditure. We do not want your choices to be more than is affordable nor less than you would like to arrange. What is important is that arrangements are kept within your wishes and budget. We believe in the recognition and meaningful celebration of a life that has been lived and will assist in arranging an appropriate service to meet your individual needs. The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BASIC SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR, STAFF & OVERHEAD $2, ** This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already in our charge for direct cremation, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.) BASIC SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR, STAFF & OVERHEAD FOR TRANSFER TO ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME, REMOVAL AND EMBALMING SERVICES Consultation with a Texas or Louisiana Licensed Funeral Director at Our Funeral Home, Medical Facility or By Telephone, these contractual fees will be billed to receiving funeral home when family terminates our services for another funeral home service provider. All fees are due when receiving funeral home arrives to retrieve your love one from our professional care to their funeral home. Only a licensed funeral director can make the removal from out funeral home protecting the best interest of all parties. ($5,000 25% professional trade discount) RECEIVING REMAINS FROM ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME $2, Services include: Basic services of staff, transportation of remains to cemetery or crematory within 50-mile radius. (This excludes private and common carrier (airlines), casket/container, dressing and casketing, viewing, visitation, rites or ceremonies.) IMMEDIATE BURIAL Our charge for immediate burial includes: basic service of funeral director and staff; removal of remains; dressing and casketing; and local transportation of the deceased to the cemetery. Immediate burials are without services, rites and ceremonies at the funeral home, graveside or elsewhere and will be conducted at the convenience of the funeral home and cemetery.
