Living n campus prvides many benefits t students, primarily prviding a safe living space cnveniently lcated right n campus. In additin t the persnal accmmdatins, students als share husing with many ther students, creating an academically and scially engaging atmsphere. T reserve yur space in the GCC student husing ptin, the Campus Suites, please review and fllw the checklist utlined belw. Yu may keep this page fr yur recrds and later review. Student Husing Checklist: - Cmplete and submit the Campus Suites Applicatin. The applicatin, prvided with this checklist, needs t be filled ut cmpletely as the answers help the ffice t place residents and t cmmunicate thse placements. Return the applicatin, either by mail r in persn, t the Office f Student Husing alng with the $25.00 nnrefundable applicatin fee. - Cmplete and submit the Campus Suites Cntract. The cntract will either be mailed t the address listed n yur applicatin nce it is submitted r will be included in yur applicatin packet. Return the signed cntract t the Office f Student Husing. Please be sure t thrughly review the cntent f the cntract befre signing. Submit the $ security depsit payment. The cntract is nt cmplete and a space will nt be reserved until this payment is received. Once a student mves in t student husing, the security depsit cnverts t a refundable damage depsit. Please nte that nce yu sign and submit the Campus Suites Cntract, yu will be billed fr husing fr the entire academic year unless yu cancel yur cntract prir t mving in t the Campus Suites r until yu receive apprval n a Cntract Release Request. Rent must be paid prir t mving in t the Campus Suites. - Wait fr ntificatin regarding yur husing assignment. Once yur applicatin materials are received in full, a husing assignment will be made. Cnfirmatin f yur assignment will be mailed t the address listed n yur applicatin. As we have a limited number f spaces in the Campus Suites, reservatins will nt be made until a student has submitted a cmpleted applicatin, a $25.00 applicatin fee payment, a signed cntract, and a $ security depsit payment. It is recmmended that the applicatin, cntract, and crrelating payments are submitted t the Office f Student Husing n later than NOV 31, 2018 fr Spring and JULY 1, 2018 fr Fall Semesters. Applicatins will still be accepted after that pint but reservatins will be made n a first-cme, first-serve basis. Cntact infrmatin fr yur assigned rmmates and suitemates will be included in yur husing assignment when pssible. If yu want yur cntact infrmatin t be shared with yur rmmate r suitemates, please be sure t indicate such n the designated space in the Campus Suites Applicatin. As applicatins are received thrughut the summer, the Office f Student Husing may need t make changes t yur husing assignment after it has been made. 3 Cntract Campus Suites This cntract becmes a binding legal dcument when yu (r yur parent r guardian if yu are under 18) signs it and it is accepted by the Office f Student Husing at Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege. Read it carefully s yu understand its prvisins thrughly. Yu will be respnsible fr all plicies in this cntract, the Student Husing Handbk, and the Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege catalg. Eligibility Only thse wh are fficially enrlled as full-time Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege students in n-campus curses that are currently in sessin may reside in the Campus Suites. Students less than full-time wh wish t reside n-campus must petitin the Office f Residential Life fr special cnsideratin. Students wh cancel their registratin r withdraw must vacate their rm within 48 hurs f their cancellatin. Eligibility can als be affected if a student has a felny cnvictin. Students wh have been cnvicted f a felny must reprt the nature f the ffense t the Manager f Campus Suites at the time f applicatin, r immediately upn cnvictin if during the perid f cntract. Eligibility t live in the Campus Suites fr a cnvicted feln wuld then be determined at the discretin f the cllege administratin. Perid f Cntract Rm assignments are made n a full academic year basis. Residents may mve in n the dates listed with their husing assignment infrmatin. The Campus Suites will be pen by request and thrugh prir individual arrangement during hliday breaks and during Spring break. Students will be ntified f the final year-end clsing dates f the Campus Suites. Individuals wh vacate assigned rms withut written cnsent f the Manager f Campus Suites will be respnsible fr all charges fr the entire academic year. Cnditin f Residence Effrts will be made t meet the rm assignment chices which are indicated n a student s applicatin. Hwever, Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege reserves the right t make assignments in accrdance with the availability f space and at the discretin f the Manager f Campus Suites. Rm changes may be granted at the discretin f the Manager f Campus Suites. Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege reserves the right t cancel rm reservatins if the rm is unccupied by the first day f scheduled classes in each sessin. Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege reserves the right t inspect rms fr maintenance, health, r safety reasns. The Cllege affirms its respect fr each resident s right t privacy in his/her rm and agrees t make a reasnable effrt t give at least 24-hur ntice prir t making rutine inspectins fr damages and cleanliness. The Cllege regards rm entry fr purpses f imprvements, maintenance, cleaning, and recvery f unauthrized Cllege-wned prperty, and fire and safety inspectins as necessary fr the health and general welfare f all residents. Therefre, I agree that entry is authrized fr these purpses. I als agree that my request fr maintenance service will cnstitute authrizatin t enter my rm fr such maintenance withut further ntice. Except as indicated in this sectin, the Cllege agrees that entry withut ntice will be made nly in emergencies t prtect r ensure prtectin f life, limb, r prperty. I understand that I am respnsible fr and agree t pay Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege fr any damages t my assigned rm/suite and fr any damage caused by me t Campus Suites building. The Campus Suites Cntract may nt be assigned r sld. Subletting f rms r space within them is prhibited. Cnducting businesses within rms r halls is prhibited. Guests f residents are permitted t remain vernight in accrdance with Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege s Guest Plicy (see Campus Suites Handbk). Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege and its emplyees are nt respnsible fr damage, lss, r theft f a student s persnal prperty. Students are strngly encuraged t have persnal prperty insurance.

4 Check-in Prcedures When yu check int yur rm, yu must review and cmplete an inventry f furnishings and rm cnditin frm. This frm is very imprtant because it assures that yu will nt be charged fr missing items r fr damages caused by previus ccupants. Rm keys will be issued thrugh the Manager f Campus Suites nly after a student has cmpleted a rm cnditin frm. Check-ut Prcedures At the time yu vacate yur rm, yu are required t cmplete a final rm cnditin frm indicating the cntents and cnditin f yur rm. Failure t d s will result in the frfeiture f the prepaid rm depsit. If yu fail t return yur rm, mailbx and/r utside dr keys, a prcessing charge and a replacement charge will be added t yur student accunt. Students are respnsible fr the cnditin f their rms and any damages that take place between check-in and check-ut. Cnslidatin Prcedures If yur fur-persn unit is nt full, yu will, at the cllege s discretin, be required t cnslidate with anther fur-persn unit. Cmplete cnslidatin respnsibilities and prcedures are cntained in the Campus Suites Handbk. Additinal Charges Yu may be held accuntable and be charged fr cmmn area damages which cannt be attributed t specific individuals such as, but nt limited t: damages r stlen furniture r building equipment, additinal cleaning due t excessive trash r persnal items in cmmn areas, and brken windws. Rules and Regulatins Each resident, by virtue f this cntract, agrees t abide by all relevant federal, state, and lcal laws as well as the rules and regulatins f Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege as stated in the Campus Suites Handbk. A cpy f the Campus Suites Handbk is available nline at ggebic.edu, and a hard cpy will be prvided fr each resident upn mve-in. Further, each resident can be held respnsible fr any and all behavir r activities within his/her assigned rm r the cmmn areas f the Campus Suites. Vilatin f rules and regulatins will result in actin being taken by Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege, varying frm issuance f a warning t seeking prsecutin in criminal curt, depending upn the nature and severity f the vilatin. Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege reserves the right t cancel yur husing cntract and t require yu t mve ut f yur suite if yu cmmit a serius plicy vilatin, cntinue t cmmit minr vilatins, r shw a serius lack f respect fr thers in the Campus Suites. Any student dismissed frm husing fr behaviral reasns is still respnsible fr full year husing rental charges! Depsit A rm reservatin will be cnfirmed in writing upn receipt f: 1) cmpleted husing applicatin and applicatin fee, 2) signed Campus Suites Cntract, 3) $200 rm depsit, and 4) an accunt in gd standing with the Business Office. If the student seeks cancellatin f husing after a rm depsit has been received and after a rm assignment has been made, the rm depsit cannt be refunded. At the beginning f the cntract perid, the rm depsit will be cnverted t a damage depsit and held during the academic year. At the cnclusin f the cntract perid, if the student is nt returning t the Campus Suites, the student will have their damage depsit credited t their accunt in the Business Office, prvided that they meet the requirements as utlined in the Student Handbk (i.e. prper check-ut, damages, etc.). Payments The rm rate fr ne student in a fur-persn unit in the Campus Suites fr the academic year is $4, Rates fr renting additinal space are available thrugh the Office f Student Husing. Students are billed by the Business Office and payment f rental must be paid in full befre checking int the Campus Suites. If a student cancels registratin r withdraws, refunds f rent paid are as stipulated in the Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege catalg. If a student remains in the Campus Suites after the student withdraws frm classes, the student will be billed fr thse additinal days in residence. Harassment Any actin that is intended t anny, threaten, alarm, r harm any ther member f the Campus Suites cmmunity is cnsidered a serius breach f the husing cntract and will nt be tlerated. Sexual harassment, racial insults, sexist insults, and any remark be it verbal, written, r gesture intended t degrade, intimidate, insult, r embarrass anther resident will be grunds fr evictin withut refund!

5 Cntract I have thrughly read the plicies, rules, regulatins and requirements cntained in this cntract and agree t cmply with them and ther such rules and regulatins as may be instituted by Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege during the curse f this cntract. In particular, I understand that this cntract is fr a rm in the Campus Suites fr the entire academic year cnsisting f Fall and Spring terms, subject nly t the Campus Suites refund plicies as stated in the Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege Campus Suites Handbk. My signature belw acknwledges that I have thrughly read the plicies, rules, regulatins, and requirements cntained in this cntract and understand and agree t cmply with them including the terms and cnditins f the Campus Suites Handbk, which are incrprated herein by reference. I agree t make myself aware f and abide by my rights and respnsibilities under the applicable rules, regulatins, rdinances and prcedures established by the cllege cmmunity and any ther such rules r regulatins as may be instituted by Ggebic Cmmunity Cllege during the curse f this cntract.
