3 RESOLUTION NO. 16R-2557 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SARASOTA, FLORIDA AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2015 BY PROVIDING FOR SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE AMOUNTS IDENTIFIED IN EXHIBIT A; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY IF ANY OF THE PARTS HEREOF ARE DECLARED INVALID; PROVIDING FOR READING BY TITLE ONLY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 15R-2515 the City has adopted a budget for the fiscal year beginning on October 1, 2015 and ending on September 30, 2016; and WHEREAS, the City needs to amend said budget so as to provide for supplemental appropriations in the amounts identified in Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, Section (4) (c) Florida Statutes requires such a budget amendment be adopted in the same manner as the original budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SARASOTA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The budget for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2015 is hereby amended by providing for supplemental appropriations in the amounts identified in Exhibit A. Section 2. Should any section, sentence, clause, part or provision of this Resolution be declared invalid or unenforceable, by a court of competent jurisdiction, the same shall not affect the validity of this Resolution as a whole, or any part hereof other than the part declared to be invalid. Said provision declared to be invalid shall be deemed severed from the remaining provisions of this Resolution. Section 3. Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. 1 of 10

It was determined during a recent evaluation of the infrastructure that due to the age and environmental conditions the light assemblies are in need of replacement. We will be replacing the existing 12 assemblies with LED technology. Please allocate $16, from the Gas Tax fund balance for the purpose of purchasing the 12 assemblies. Mr. Jenkins has worked throughout the United States as an arts and education consultant, providing professional development training for teachers in arts integration and arts inclusion strategies for students with disabilities. He is a cartoonist, writer, and illustrator and in 2008 published first teacher's arts integration manual, "Comics in Your Curriculum." Based upon review and research of compensation paid at numerous performing arts venues for their executive level professionals or equivalent, the City Manager has chosen to amend the compensation article of Executive Director of the Van Wezel, Mary Bensel's, employment agreement. A compensation review of public information for comparable Performing Arts Hall was completed in mid The data indicated that seven of ten comparable halls provided a bonus structure to their executive officers. This is a common practice found in the comparable compensation data for this career area. The bonus structure or supplemental pay is generally based upon performance of the venue for a specific time period, such as the annual yearly show or performance season. Ms. Bensel's annual supplemental pay shall be based upon an Excess Operating Revenues received by the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall for the preceding fiscal year. The City Manager shall have the discretion in granting this supplement on an annual basis in addition to requiring the performance level of Ms. Bensel to be satisfactory or above.
