2 1.0 INTRODUCTION. This strategic plan dcument cntains a five years, strategic actin plan dcument that is develped t serve the ministry f PRAYERS BEYOND BOUNDARIES MINISTRIES (PBBM). The strategic plan is the first f its kind fr PBBM since its establishment in August The funders and assciates f PBBM have felt they wuld like t serve Gd with wisdm and like the Men f Issachar (I Chrn 12:32), understand the times and seek Gd n what must be dne in the prayer arena t bring natinal and glbal transfrmatin. This plan has been develped as a result f an utcme f meetings initially with the funders, the entire cngregatin and three wrkshp meetings all f which were held between Nvember 2008 and February Backgrund. PBBM was funded by Lucy Njeri Ngunjiri in August This was as a respnse t her wn persnal call as she gt expsed t the verwhelming need by the public fr prayer and the spiritual hunger. The majr trigger fr this was Lucy s Christian prgram in a ppular radi statin that endeared her t millins f listeners. A decisin was made that the need required supprt f friends wh had the same passin and a team f 12 assciates was put tgether. The ministry was registered in 2007 as a sciety with three ffice bearers. The immense grwth in the reach t thusands f peple with prayers, salvatin at crusades, pastrs wh have received bicycles and needy children wh have received lve has nw made it necessary t put tgether this strategic plan. 3.0 Methdlgy PBBM values the cntributin f each and every member t its future. The plan has been develped thrugh the input f at least 1100 members thrugh fcused grups at spread ut Their dreams fr what they wish t see PBBM becme frm the backbne f the key strategic pririties the next 5 years. Their expressins t participate fully were captured in all the fcused grups during the preparatin f this plan. 2

3 4.0 STAKE HOLDERS ANALYSIS. PBBM has its cre primary stakehlder grup as the cngregants wh frequent the prayer They expect t be ministered t and taught the whle wrd f Gd, but in particular they lk frward t quality time f prayer and wrship. The ministry expects they will pray, supprt and express cmmitment t all its prgrams. The ther primary stakehlders are the assciates wh expect ministry pprtunity and supprt t serve as they give sacrificially their time, talents and passin fr the PBBM missin. The ther primary grups are the needy children and disadvantaged pastrs in the cmmunity wh expect varied supprt. They prvide a ministry grund and are expected t cntinually pray fr the ministry. PBBM wuld nt achieve its visin withut its dnrs and partners wh frm the last categry f primary stakehlders. They expect the ministry will exercise gd stewardship and accuntability t all the resurces given. Institutins, families, pastrs, intercessr and ther interest grups frm the secndary stakehlders and in general there is mutual exchange f netwrking with the ministry with each meeting a specific need. Gvernment s expect cmpliance t all legal issues n the part f the ministry while the ministry expects security and a stable sciety whenever they hld meetings natinally. 5.0 Situatinal and External Analysis PBBB has benefited frm great publicity, the funder directr being a media persnality and a gspel artist. The assciates are current r recent cllege graduates giving the ministry a pl f yung energetic team wh are trained in ministry. There are strng netwrks with pastrs, friends and natinal leaders. The integrity f a prayer and inter-denminatinal ministry is als a great asset. There has been a ntable unity f purpse, heart and placement with diversity in gifting amng its leaders. PBBM has in its tw years f ministry thrugh its leadership been run as a faith ministry, depending n Gd s prvisin fr all its prgrams. 3

4 There has been pr cmmunicatin system with ntable financial cnstrains and lack f reliable surce f incme. The tendency t be anilingual [using a lt f kikuyu] is a majr weakness in the face f cuntry with ver 40 tribes. Limited meeting times-nce a mnth and limited publicity structures with lack f interactive web-site pse anther weakness. Currently the meeting venues in ne regin, specifically Nairbi cupled with lack f hlistic invlvement f the team in missin utside the city is anther drawback. The ministry des nt have prper structures fr fllw up f new cnverts and there is inadequate publicity, fr The ther needs are lack f full time ministry and great challenge n resurces t run the ministry. There are neglected needy cases in the sciety which prvides unique ministry pprtunity. The publicity platfrm/advantage thrugh the visin bearer in the media scenes is an advantage. There is a prayer revival wave and ver time PBBM has fund favr with the executive and influential leaders natinally. The cnnectin with influential gspel artists makes PBBM have a lt f expsure. There are resurce mbilizatin pprtunities in the meetings where T shirts and music can be sld. 6.0 External Envirnmental Analysis (PESTEL) PBBM is cmmitted t ministering with relevance n what is happening t its envirnment. The ministry views itself as salt and light t the needy cmmunity. The cuntry cntinues t be faced by acute shrtage f fd with rising cst f living and harsh climatic change. PBBM has a needy cngregatin wh must grapple with limited resurces. Plitically there is ethnic vlatility with the past three electins leaving a cuntry that is bleeding, a natin that fears transitins. There is leadership uncertainty as the cuntry tries ut the new calitin gvernment. The natin is awaiting cnstitutin refrms and any bills in parliament that will determine the future f land allcatins and distributins. PBBM as a ministry culd be affected with ther religius grups by any bills that regulate churches. The sciety has seen a rise in cases f divrce and separatin bringing in quite sme strain n the family frnt. Tribal and ethnic tensins als cntinue t plarize the cuntry especially in 4

5 the rural areas ften as cmmunities fight ver scarce resurces.
