2 YESTERDAY IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKETS Global Ticker Daily Change US Stocks Record their first Yearly Loss since 2011 The Standard & Poor s 500 Index lost its grip on a fourth consecutive annual gain in the year s final trading session, as technology shares led a decline in U.S. stocks paced by Apple Inc. The S&P 500 slumped 1 percent to 2, at 4 p.m. in New York, with gauge falling 0.7 percent for the year as selling accelerated in the final minutes of trading. The year s last day featured seesaw moves as energy producers in the benchmark index advanced with oil after erasing an early drop, though the group capped its biggest annual retreat in seven years. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index rose 6.8 percent during 2015, less than half its average annual return since global equities bottomed in 2009 and falling short of the 14 percent gain forecast by banks and brokerages a year ago. 3 THE ASX YESTERDAY IN REVIEW AUS Ticker Change ASX Down 2.1 Percent for the Year The benchmark index ASX 200 finished the year 2.1 per cent lower at points. The index closed 0.45 per cent lower in a shortened session on 31 December, The best performing sectors for the year were Utilities, Industrials and Healthcare while the worst performers were Energy and Materials. Financials were mixed as regulatory challenges and capital raisings diluted shareholders. The stocks that gained the most during the day were Monadelphous Group, up 2.3 per cent, and Domino's Pizza Enterprises, which added 2.8 per cent. Nine Entertainment was up 1.9 per cent. The stocks that declined the most were Liquefied Natural Gas, down 6.8 per cent, and Beach Energy, which shed 4 per cent. News Corp lost 2.2 per cent. The airline company experienced an organic revenue growth and also benefited from lower oil prices during The stock is up approximately 65% for the year. Lendlease DATE CODEto Sell COMPANY 25% Interest in Tower One at ANNOUNCEMENT Barangaroo South The property and infrastructure company Lendlease Group (ASX:LLC) announced that an unnamed Asian institutional investor will purchase a 25 percent stake in Lend Lease One International Towers Sydney Trust (LLOnelTST). LLOnelTST, which is located in the Barangaroo South precinct, was established in June Post the completion of the sale of a 25 percent interest in the fund, Lendlease s equity commitment will ease from $525 million to $175 million.
