2 YESTERDAY IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKETS Global Ticker Daily Change U.S. Stocks Post Back-to-Back Gains; Oil Continues Rally U.S. stocks have headed toward the first back-to-back gains in almost two weeks, with energy producers rallying as crude oil touched a 15- month high and banks gained amid better-than forecast earnings. Data showing a surprise drop in crude supplies snapped equities out of an early spell of listless trading, sending oil and gas companies to their strongest gains this month and boosting optimism that the drag on profits from the energy group will abate. The S&P 500 added 0.2 per cent to 2, at 4pm in New York, after yesterday rising the most in two weeks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed points, or 0.2 per cent, to 18, points. European stocks erased declines and posted their first back-to-back gains in two weeks amid better-than-estimated earnings. 3 THE ASX YESTERDAY IN REVIEW AUS Ticker Change ASX Follows International Markets The ASX followed international markets higher amid general optimism despite mixed earnings announcements in the U.S. Chinese GDP data failed to excite markets and telecommunication shares rebounded as Telstra (TLS) added 1.2 per cent, while Vocus Communications (VOC) and TPG Telecom (TPM) gained 4.6 and 1.3 per cent respectively. The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.5 per cent to be last quoted at 5,435.4 points. The All Ordinaries Index advanced 0.5 per cent, while the Small Ordinaries rose 1 per cent. Most sectors gained with gold, consumer and telecommunication shares leading the charge. ASX investors reacted neutral to Chinese GDP data which was broadly in line with expectations. The second largest economy in the world grew at 6.7 per cent year-on-year, well within the government s growth target of per cent. CBL has been given the regulatory approval to proceed with its $150 million strategic acquisition of Securities and Financial Solutions Europe (SFS), its largest single client. CBL is trading at an all-time high and is up over 120 per cent over the past 12 months. Shares of Nine Entertainment have plummeted over 50 per cent since the beginning of the year as the media industry continues to struggle. Traditional pay television has come under pressure as people embrace digital streaming services such as Netflix, which is facilitated by faster download speeds. NEC is travelling in a medium-term downtrend since listing on the ASX.

The technical advisor of the Looking Glass Project is John Holliday, the principal discoverer of Newcrest Mining s (ASX:NCM) Cadia Valley deposit. Situated within the Lachlan Orogon, formerly known as Lachlan Fold Belt, the Looking Glass Project is a grass roots exploration project that has not previously been subject to exploration for gold or base metal mineralisation.
