2 YESTERDAY IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKETS Global Ticker Daily Change U.S. Stocks Slip on Friday to Post Weekly Decline U.S. stocks slipped Friday, adding to the first weekly decline in four, as jobs data showing steady growth in the labor market kept the Federal Reserve on track to carry out an interest rate increase this year. The S&P 500 Index slipped 0.3 percent to 2, at 4 p.m. in New York, pushing the decline this week to 0.7 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost points, or 0.2 percent, to 18, It dropped 0.4 percent in the week. Equities pared losses in afternoon trading as investors speculate growth isn t robust enough to warrant an increase in the pace of tightening. Employers added 156,000 jobs in September, showing the labor market is settling into a pace that will support the economy as the Federal Reserve considers tightening monetary policy as soon as next month. S&P % Dow Jones -0.15% NASDAQ -0.27% STOXX % FTSE % DAX % Crude Oil -1.25% Gold -0.09% The Stoxx Europe 600 Index fell 0.9 percent at the close, as all industry groups except miners declined.

3 THE ASX YESTERDAY IN REVIEW AUS Ticker Change Energy Shares Emerge as Bright Spot on ASX The ASX edged marginally higher last week as gains in energy shares offset declines in gold companies. Energy companies roared higher after crude oil experienced strong gains last week, which helped the overall market to close in the black. Investors paid attention to central bank activity, closely following the U.S. Federal Reserve (FED) and the European Central Bank (ECB) on clues for future monetary policies. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index and the broader All Ordinaries Index each fell 0.3 per cent on Friday, but managed to close up 0.6 and 0.4 per cent higher for the week to points and points respectively. The Reserve Bank of Australia kept interest rates unchanged at their monthly meeting last Tuesday. ASX SPI Futures indicate a flat or slightly higher open this morning, even though Wall Street fell on Friday. AFG.asx - steaming hot RBL.asx - cooling down DATE CODE COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENT Strong growth in the home loans business as well continued growth in the commercial mortgage broking business have helped Australian Finance Group to lift revenue by 4 per cent despite demerging its property business. Net profit rose 11 per cent to $22.6 million. Net cash flow from continued operations was $44 million. AFG s share price is up 23 per cent since the beginning of the year. Redbubble s shares have lost over 30 per cent since listing on the ASX in May at $1.33. Even though Redbubble has a 10 year track record and posted a 61 per cent increase in revenue to $114.6 million during FY16, it appears that the market believes the float was overvalued. Redbubble s long-term outlook appears solid, but the stock is struggling to find support in the short-term.
