2 YESTERDAY IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKETS Global Ticker Daily Change US 3 rd Day of Declines; European Banks Decline U.S. stocks declined for a third day, amid disappointing results from Allstate Corp. and CVS Health Corp. while Apple Inc. slipped further into a correction. The Standard & Poor s 500 Index lost 0.2 percent to 2, at 4 p.m. in New York, slipping below its average price during the past 100 days. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell points, or 0.3 percent, to 17, The Nasdaq Composite Index retreated 0.2 percent. About 6.5 billion shares traded hands on U.S. exchanges, in line with the three-month average. European stocks snapped a five-day winning streak as declines in banks outweighed a surge in miners. Greek shares slid for a second day. The Stoxx 600 retreated 0.2 percent to at the close of trading, after earlier losing as much as 0.6 percent. Italy s FTSE MIB Index and Spain s IBEX 35 Index dropped 1 percent. 3 THE ASX YESTERDAY IN REVIEW AUS Ticker Change ASX and Shanghai Gain Yesterday The ASX200 had a positive day yesterday gaining 0.33 per cent. The market started fast making most of its gains in the first hour of trading before levelling out for the rest of the day. The day was boosted by a better than expected Trade Balance. All sectors gained with the exception of Materials, Information Technology and Energy falling 0.81, 0.58 and 1.37 per cent respectively. The stand out performer was once again Healthcare gaining 1.16 per cent. China stocks rose, with the benchmark index rebounding from a threeweek low, as some brokerages halted their short-selling businesses amid increasing state intervention to stem the rout in equities. The Shanghai Composite Index gained 3.7 percent to 3, at the close, snapping a three-day, 4.4 percent drop. China Southern Airlines Co. and China Eastern Airlines Corp. jumped by the 10 percent daily limit as oil prices held near a six-month low. Suncorp DATE CODE Reports COMPANY $1.1BN Full-Year Profit ANNOUNCEMENT General insurance and financial services company Suncorp Group Limited (ASX:SUN) kicked off reporting season with a $1.1bn full-year net profit after tax (NPAT) of $1.1bn compared to a $730m profit during FY14. Total revenue increased slightly to $16.7bn (FY14: $16.4bn). Suncorp also announced a final ordinary dividend of 38 cent per share, bringing total dividends for FY15 to 76 cents, a slight improvement to the 75 cents recorded last financial year.
