2 YESTERDAY IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKETS Global Ticker Daily Change U.S. Stocks Rebound; Stoxx 600 Dragged Down by Miners U.S. stocks rose, surging in the final minutes of trading as a rebound in crude-oil overshadowed credit market turbulence and weakness in commodity shares before the Federal Reserve prepares to raise interest rates. The Standard & Poor s 500 Index rose 0.5 percent to 2, at 4 p.m. in New York, after earlier falling as much as 1 percent. Stocks worldwide have sputtered this month, as the prospects for a Fed rate increase as soon as Dec. 16 and a drop in oil sparked a selloff in riskier assets. Declines in miners and energy producers dragged European stocks lower for a fifth session, two days before the Federal Reserve s rate decision. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index fell 1.8 percent at the close of trading, wiping out early gains of as much as 1 percent to cap its longest losing streak since July. 3 THE ASX YESTERDAY IN REVIEW AUS Ticker Change ASX Recorded the Second Worst Day of the Year The local share market dropped as pre-fed frights and deepened oil rout affected international markets overnight. All sectors finished in the red as the benchmark index ASX 200 lost 2% to record the second lowest close of the year at points. The worst performing sector was Energy which plummeted 3.3% followed by Materials which was down 2.2%. The sectors that dropped the least are Healthcare and Telecommunications which were down 0.6% and 0.65% respectively. Only 25 among the top 200 stocks finished in the green yesterday. 7 WHATS HOT? WHATS NOT? VTG.asx - steaming hot SUN.asx - cooling down Vita Group Limited upgraded its guidance as earnings are expected to be between $25.5 million to $27.5 million for H1FY16. The company reported that the target was underpinned by continued strong performance and higher than expected profit of approximately $3 million from its discontinued businesses. Insurance giant Suncorp reported yesterday that their General Insurance Margin will be affected for the half year ending 31st December 2015, due to increasing costs of settling claims. Suncorp attribute this to a series of circumstances, namely last year s record run of natural hazard events, along with a lower Australian dollar.

CIMIC DATE Announces CODE COMPANY Share Buy-Back of 10 ANNOUNCEMENT Percent of its Shares CIMIC Group Limited (ASX:CIM) announced a share buy-back program of 10 per cent of its fully paid ordinary shares over the next 12 months. The company also previously announced that it was rewarded an extension of its existing mining contract worth 1.3 billion and its intentions to fully acquire Devine Limited. According to CIMIC, the on-market buyback is aimed to improve shareholder returns, enhance capital efficiency, and maintain sufficient balance sheet flexibility to pursue future growth and investment opportunities. CIMIC s mining contractor Thiess was awarded a contract extension on 11th December 2015 which is worth $1.3 billion in revenue and is situated at Lake Vermont Coal Mine, near Dysart in Central Queensland.
