Achieving these gals will require dmestic investment climate refrms in many ASEAN Member States (AMS) in rder t facilitate freign and dmestic investment and cntribute t reginal plicy harmnisatin. Such refrms culd significantly strengthen ASEAN reginal supply chains, allwing investrs t spread their activities strategically thrughut the regin. ASEAN has many initiatives t fster investment climate refrms as part f reginal integratin. These range frm initiatives linked t dmestic refrms t a reginal platfrm fr investment dialgue, including the ASEAN Investment Frum. The verall drive f reginal integratin als underpins the strategy t narrw the develpment gap between the ASEAN 6 and Cambdia, La PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam. The OECD has partnered with ASEAN in supprting these imprtant steps. C-peratin n strengthening investment plicy and prmtin bth natinally and reginally has prven particularly fruitful. Thrugh OECD Investment Plicy Reviews, AMS are building capacity within natinal administratins t implement the necessary refrms t achieve the AEC by This OECD-ASEAN investment c-peratin allws fr peer learning, bth internatinally thrugh a dialgue with members f the OECD Investment Cmmittee and reginally thrugh disseminatin f the results within an ASEAN cntext. It als prvides a platfrm fr benchmarking investment plicies bth within ASEAN and vis-à-vis peers in ther parts f the wrld, which culd be a useful cntributin t the AEC Screcard. The recently launched OECD Sutheast Asia Reginal Prgramme will add additinal institutinal supprt fr n-ging ASEAN-OECD c-peratin n investment. The Secnd ASEAN-OECD Investment Plicy Cnference fllws n frm an earlier cnference held in Nvember 2010 and will gather investment plicy makers frm ASEAN and OECD members, as well as industry leaders. On the eve f 2015, the event will shwcase ASEAN s reginal investment integratin achievements and effrts. Practitiners will highlight plicy refrms at the natinal and reginal levels and cnsider practical measures t enhance integratin. Ways t successfully attract investment that will strengthen ASEAN supply chains will be identified. Day 1 features a High-Level Frum where leaders frm the public and private sectrs will interact n key issues t fster ASEAN integratin thrugh investment plicy and prmtin. Day 2 will fcus n specific aspects f reginal c-peratin n investment prmtin, as well as n strengthening the ASEAN supply chain and integrating ASEAN int glbal value chains. This Frum will als feature a first meeting f the Reginal Plicy Netwrk n investment within the cntext f the OECD Sutheast Asia Reginal Prgramme. 1
