The fllwing is a brief summary f the benefits included in yur relcatin prgram which are effective January 1, *Refer t full prgram dcument fr details. Relcatin services and benefits cannt begin until yu are within 90 days f yur effective start date with Chevrn. Tpics Cvered in this Summary Repayment Agreement Allwance Payments Departure Services and Benefits Destinatin Services and Benefits Additinal Relcatin Services Repayment Agreement Prir t receiving any relcatin benefits yu are required t sign a ne-year relcatin payment agreement. The repayment schedule is 100 percent repayment if yu vluntarily leave Chevrn frm yur effective payrll transfer. Allwance Payments Miscellaneus Expense Allwance (MEA) If yu are mving t the U.S. directly frm an internatinal lcatin, at the beginning f yur mve, yu will receive a ne-time payment equal t 1.5 mnths salary (uncapped), less taxes, t cver any nn-specific miscellaneus expenses that yu might incur as a result f yur relcatin. N receipting is required. If yu are already living and wrking in yur new U.S. lcatin yu will receive a ne-time payment equal t 1.5 mnths salary (capped at $15,000), less taxes, and yu must change residence in rder t be eligible fr the Miscellaneus Expense Allwance. Relcatin Allwance Tgether with yur MEA yu will receive an additinal payment specifically intended t cver the anticipated csts f yur huse hunting and interim living based n the fllwing: Huse Hunting: ldging and meals Hmewner: six nights / seven days Renter: three nights / fur days Interim Living: ldging fr 30 days plus a ne-time $500 interim living setup Huse hunting trip feature des nt apply if yu are already living in the new lcatin while n temprary internatinal, residential expatriate r ther cmpany assignments. Departure Services and Benefits Hmewner Hme Selling Services Chevrn will reimburse yu, with apprpriate dcumentatin, fr nrmal and custmary ne-time clsing csts n yur hme in yur cuntry f rigin r passprt. 3 Renter - Lease Cancellatin If yu are a renter and incur lease cancellatin penalties n yur rental huse r apartment, yu will be reimbursed fr the equivalent f up t tw mnths rent. Destinatin Services and Benefits Hme Finding Services Chevrn prvides destinatin services t assist yu in finding a new primary residence in yur new wrk lcatin. These services are administered by Brkfield and participatin is required in rder fr yu t receive certain future relcatin benefits. Required placement f hme purchase referral with real estate agent thrugh Brkfield. Assistance with hme purchase negtiatin and cntract review prir t submissin f yur ffer. If yu are a renter, Chevrn will reimburse yu up t $750 fr prfessinal rental finding assistance. Chevrn Apprved Lender Prgram Chevrn has agreements with several preferred mrtgage lenders. The benefits f using these apprved lenders are: Cmpetitive mrtgage rates. Direct bill f lan clsing csts. Negtiated mrtgage csts. If yu are receiving certain high husing csts benefits (as utlined belw), yu are required t use ne f the apprved lenders fr yur new lan. New Hme Purchase Clsing Csts If yu were a hmewner and purchase a hme in yur new wrk lcatin, Chevrn will pay yur nrmal and custmary hme purchase clsing csts. In additin, Chevrn will pay yur: Pre-purchase inspectins; subject t restrictins. Duplicate Husing After yur initial 30-day interim living benefit, as prvided in yur relcatin allwance, Chevrn prvides an additinal 90 days assistance with yur husing csts, in yur cuntry f rigin r passprt, while yu market yur hme fr sale. Yu are reimbursed fr: Interest, taxes and insurance n yur frmer residence. Prperty maintenance. Hmewner - High Husing Cst Benefits If yu mve int a new wrk lcatin designated by Chevrn t be a high r very high cst husing area, yu may be eligible fr ne r mre f the benefits described belw: Basic Husing Differential (BHD) Supplemental Husing Assistance (SHA) Chevrn uses an independent, industry-leading cmpany t prvide the cst f husing index used as the basis t determine yur eligibility fr these benefits. Benefit eligibility is based n the husing index differential between yur current and new wrk lcatins. Yur ability t utilize sme f these benefits may be affected by mandatry lender guidelines and yur creditwrthiness. Yu must use ne f Chevrn s apprved lenders. 4 Basic Husing Differential (BHD) The BHD is a ne-time payment, less taxes, prvided t help defray the increased husing csts in yur new wrk lcatin. Yur benefit eligibility is based n the calculated husing index differential, and the payment is made based n the fllwing schedule: Standard r high cst areas frm $0 t $22,000. Very high cst areas frm $0 t $40,000. Supplemental Husing Assistance (SHA) SHA is a dllar-based mrtgage interest rate subsidy, used t reduce the interest rate n yur new hme primary mrtgage fr up t five years, based n the fllwing schedule: Year 1 30% Year 4 15% Year 2 25% Year 5 10% Year 3 20% Year 6 0% Yur benefit eligibility is based n the calculated husing index differential, and the payment is made based n the fllwing schedule: High cst areas frm $0 up t $7,500 Very high cst areas frm $0 up t $40,000 The SHA benefit is taxable incme and is tax assisted at time f payment. Interest paid in the SHA prgram may be claimed as an itemized deductin n yur persnal incme tax filing. Adjustment t yur SHA tax assistance may be made in the year-end tax true up. Renter- High Cst Renter s Assistance (HCRA) The HCRA is a ne-time payment, less taxes, prvided t renters t help defray the increased husing csts in yur new wrk lcatin. Benefit eligibility is based n the calculated index differential, and the payment is made based n the fllwing schedule: High Cst areas frm $0 up t $3,750. Very High Cst area frm $0 up t $15,000. Additinal Relcatin Benefits Final Mve Trip Chevrn will reimburse the cst fr reasnable ldging, per diem meals and transprtatin fr yu and any eligible family members while in transit t the new wrk lcatin. If yu fly, yu will be reimbursed fr a ne-way, ecnmy fare, 14 t 21 day advance purchase airfare. If yu are traveling frm Canada r Mexic, and chse t drive, yu must travel a minimum distance f 400 miles per day and will receive reimbursement based n Chevrn s business mileage rate. Reimbursement f up t $350 twards shipping f tw husehld pets. Husehld Gds Chevrn prvides yu with a full-service mve including packing, shipping and unpacking yur husehld gds and persnal effects frm yur departure residence t yur destinatin residence. If yur mve is greater than 400 miles (within the U.S.), tw vehicles may be shipped. 60 days f strage. $100,000 replacement value insurance is prvided while yur gds are in transit r strage. 5 Spusal/Partner Emplyment Search and Family Assistance Chevrn prvides up t $2,500 in spuse/partner emplyment search and family assistance benefits. These benefits include: Emplyment search: Career cunseling. Develpment f a persnalized individual jb search strategy/actin plan. Caching/training n essential jb search skills, such as netwrking, interviewing, and negtiating jb search ffers and salary. Resume and cver letter develpment and interview/netwrking preparatin. Family assistance services: Schl r child care surcing fr children r dependant parents Heath care prvider search. Sprts, activity, hbby grup search. Area infrmatin and cmmunity netwrking. Other persnalized services. Alternately, yu may seek direct reimbursement f up t $2,500 fr such expenses as: Jb placement service. Relicensing/recertificatin fees/educatin fr a jb in which yur spuse/partner was previusly licensed in yur state f rigin. Tax Assistance Assistance with state and federal taxes is prvided by Chevrn n certain taxable relcatin payments. A year-end tax true-up is cmpleted t validate the previus tax assistance payments and t prvide fr any needed adjustments. Chevrn prvides a ne-hur annual year-end tax cnsulting service (except if yu have received tax equalizatin assistance in the same year). Tax preparatin is nt included.
