5 PART E: APPLICANT ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS and SIGNATURES (T be read and cmpleted by the Applicant) Cnfirmatin f requirements t participate in KESS2 KESS2 is seeking funding frm the Eurpean Scial Fund (ESF), supprted by the Eurpean Unin, and as a result, additinal cnditins and administrative requirements will apply t these studentships. A KESS Studentship Agreement will be signed between the KESS schlar and the University if funding is awarded. This Agreement will set ut the cnditins f KESS funding, and describe the respnsibilities the University has t the student. Further details will be prvided t successful candidates; a template Studentship Agreement is available n request frm KESS@cf.ac.uk. The key cnditins f KESS funding are highlighted belw: Student eligibility - t be eligible fr a KESS2 Schlarship at Cardiff University applicants must: - Have a hme r wrk address in the West Wales and the Valleys regin at the time f their applicatin fr KESS funding and their enrlment fr the curse f study; - Have a legal right t live and wrk in the UK fr the duratin f the KESS2 supprt, and the right t take up paid wrk in the WWV regin n cmpletin f the schlarship; - Classified as a hme r EU student - Be accepted fr a PGR place at Cardiff University, satisfying usual University/Schl admissins criteria fr the curse f study. If yu are selected fr a KESS schlarship, riginal dcumentary evidence f yur eligibility, qualificatins and incme will be requested by the KESS Administrative team prir t cnfirming ur ffer f funding. A list f acceptable dcuments is prvided in Annex A t this frm. If yu are unable t prvide this evidence, n ffer f funding will be made. Timesheets, reprting and submissin requirements: All KESS2 schlars must prvide mnthly timesheets and a quarterly prgress reprt, utlining their activities n the prject - ur KESS administrative team will prvide templates and supprt yu with this. KESS2 schlars must als aim t achieve utputs within time perids determined by the KESS prgramme (including thesis submissin within 6 mnths (PhD) r 3 mnths (MRes/MPhil) f the end f the funding perid). Intellectual Prperty: Intellectual prperty (IP) arising ut f the prject will be wned by the University t cmply with EU State Aid regulatins. As a student, yu wn the IP in the wrk yu prduce. A cnditin f KESS funding is that yu assign this IP t the University. If this IP is subsequently cmmercially explited, yu will be entitled t a fair and reasnable share f any benefits generated, in accrdance with the University s Plicy n Intellectual Prperty Rights. Pstgraduate Skills Develpment Award: KESS2 requires students t achieve a Pstgraduate Skills Develpment Award (PSDA) in additin t their academic qualificatin. The PSDA is awarded by Bangr University, fllwing achievement f 30 credits (MRes) r 60 credits (PhD) f skills training relevant t yur needs, and attendance at a mandatry residential KESS2 Graduate Schl. The University and yur supervisrs will prvide yu with further advice and supprt t achieve this. If at any time yu decide t withdraw r fail t engage with yur studies and the requirements f the KESS2 prgramme, yu may be required t repay sme r all f the funds yu have received under this prject. DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT ON THE USE OF PERSONAL DATA FOR ESF KESS STUDENTS ( PARTICIPANTS ) Cardiff University will use the persnal infrmatin supplied by yu fr the purpse f administering yur ESF KESS Schlarship, including t assess yur eligibility and suitability fr KESS2 funding. The infrmatin yu prvide will be kept securely and may be shared with staff bth within Cardiff University and, where necessary, staff within the Bangr University Central KESS team, fr the purpse f award administratin and mnitring. The University may als be required t share sme f yur persnal data cllected during this prcess with the staff and cntractrs f the Wales Eurpean Funding Office (WEFO), with auditrs (including but nt limited t the Eurpean Cmmissin), and with staff r cnsultants wrking n behalf f the KESS2 prject, fr the purpse f award administratin, mnitring r evaluatin. Yu may be cntacted by the University, KESS team r agents wrking n behalf f KESS2, t request further infrmatin abut yur experiences f KESS2 and its utcmes. It is a cnditin f ESF KESS2 funding that infrmatin n prject participants is kept by the University fr at least 10 years, fr prject evaluatin and audit purpses.
