Lucerne, Switzerland Cochem Castle Porta Nigra DAY 1 SATURDAY, JULY 6 FLIGHT TO ZURICH Today we transfer to the airport for our overnight flight to Zurich, Switzerland.

Upon arrival at the airport, we will be transferred by motorcoach to Strasbourg, France, where we ll have some time to enjoy the city before meeting the ship s transfer to Remich, Luxembourg.

DAY 3 MONDAY, JULY 8 LUXEMBOURG CITY (BLD) Following breakfast this morning, we will depart by motorcoach for a guided tour of Luxembourg City.

2 Lucerne, Switzerland Cochem Castle Porta Nigra DAY 1 SATURDAY, JULY 6 FLIGHT TO ZURICH Today we transfer to the airport for our overnight flight to Zurich, Switzerland. Note: The airport location and airline will be confirmed no sooner than 9 months before departure. DAY 2 SUNDAY, JULY 7 REMICH (D) Welcome to Zurich! Upon arrival at the airport, we will be transferred by motorcoach to Strasbourg, France, where we ll have some time to enjoy the city before meeting the ship s transfer to Remich, Luxembourg. Here, our group will board the chartered ship and settle into our cabins for the next six nights. We will then be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail reception followed by dinner. DAY 3 MONDAY, JULY 8 LUXEMBOURG CITY (BLD) Following breakfast this morning, we will depart by motorcoach for a guided tour of Luxembourg City. Our panoramic tour of the city will offer a glimpse of the mix of styles and cultures, from the old city and the fortress ruins, to the European Convention Center and the Banking District. We'll then set out on a guided walking tour to get a closer look at some of the sites, including the Place des Armes, Place de la Constitution, capitol buildings, Corniche, old city, the exterior of the Grand Ducal Palace and Place Guillaume II. We'll return to the ship in Remich and then visit a winery for a tasting in the afternoon. Seven pioneering men of the region recognized the magic of the huge calcareous rock downstream from Remich, and they cultivated the first vineyards now famous for their sparkling wines. In 1919, in the aftermath of World War I, they set up the Caves St. Martin. During our time here, we will discover the secrets of winemaking while strolling through the underground passages that seem to go on for miles. We'll then head to the historical center of Remich for some free time. Called the Pearl of the Moselle, this charming city is surrounded by an outstanding panorama of vineyards and forests. Take a stroll along the several miles of promenade in the shade of the trees along the Moselle or sit back on a cozy terrace with a glass of wine. We'll return to the boat this evening and begin to cruise to Saarburg while we enjoy an evening of entertainment. DAY 4 TUESDAY, JULY 9 TRIER (BLD) We'll spend the morning cruising on the Sarre and the Moselle and will arrive in Trier, Germany, by late morning. This afternoon, we will set out on a guided tour of Trier. Trier is filled with Roman vestiges and heritage and offers a splendid view of the Moselle and the surrounding landscape. We'll have a look at the amphitheater, the imperial baths, the Roman basilica and the Porta Nigra, one of the best-preserved Roman city gates. Upon our return to the ship, we will enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment as we cruise to Cochem. DAY 5 WEDNESDAY, JULY 10 COCHEM (BLD) Our ship will arrive in Cochem, Germany, early this morning. After disembarking, we ll depart on a guided tour of Cochem Castle. The Imperial Castle dates back to 1000 and sits on a mighty crag over the Moselle River. After being destroyed by the French in the 17th century, it was rebuilt from scratch in a Neo-Gothic style by a local German businessman. Following our visit to the castle, free time will be available to explore the city. Stroll through the narrow, winding streets and admire the lovely half-timbered homes with slate roofs, the historic square near the town hall and the early walls, gates and churches. We'll return to the ship on foot and spend the afternoon cruising the Moselle River, one of the most beautiful tributaries of the Rhine. Enjoy the calm as we pass by charming villages, vineyards and what seems like a castle on every peak. DAY 6 THURSDAY, JULY 11 RÜDESHEIM (BLD) This morning, we'll pass through the beautiful and romantic Rhine Valley. Majestic castles, mysterious ruins and famous vineyards dot the countryside known for its legendary German royalty and fabled Lorelei Rock. We will arrive in Rüdesheim, Germany, by late morning and take a guided tour in the afternoon. The tour will have us exploring the local vineyards on a tourist train and participating in a wine tasting in the historic rooms of the Bassenheimer Hof. Afterward, we'll head to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet located in a lovely, 15th-century building. This museum holds a collection of fascinating musical instruments ranging from tiny, delicate music boxes to an enormous orchestrion. After returning to the ship, we'll begin to cruise to Mannheim.

Ship bar Chapel Bridge Cochem, Germany DAY 7 FRIDAY, JULY 12 HEIDELBERG (BLD) We ll arrive in Mannheim early this morning and journey to the city of Heidelberg.

While here, we'll visit the partially ruined, red sandstone Heidelberg Castle that sits majestically above the city, overlooking the Neckar River.

While time has taken its toll, the castle s fame lives on to this day. The giant wine barrel is one of the most popular attractions.

The facade of the Friedrich Building, displaying a perfect gallery of portraits from the royal line, is also a must-see.

The afternoon will be spent cruising along the Neckar and Rhine Rivers towards Strasbourg, and tonight we will take part in a festive gala evening!

We'll meet our guide for a walking tour of the beautiful city, including the Chapel Bridge and the Sleeping Lion Monument.

With the hotel within walking distance of many unique shops and restaurants, there s something for everyone to explore!

Known as the most romantic city in Germany, its beauty has inspired many painters and poets. While here, we'll visit the partially ruined, red sandstone Heidelberg Castle that sits majestically above the city, overlooking the Neckar River. Up until the Thirty Years War, Heidelberg boasted one of the most notable ensembles of buildings in the Holy Roman Empire. While time has taken its toll, the castle s fame lives on to this day. The giant wine barrel is one of the most popular attractions. Built in a cellar in 1591, it held 34,342 gallons of wine collected from the Palatinate in payment of taxes. The facade of the Friedrich Building, displaying a perfect gallery of portraits from the royal line, is also a must-see. After our visit, we ll make our way to the historical center of the city to take in the many sites. Enjoy some free time before returning on board in Heidelberg. DAY 8 SATURDAY, JULY 13 LUCERNE (B) We say goodbye to the ship and crew in Strasbourg, France, and meet the coach for our transfer to Lucerne, Switzerland. Lunch is on our own at one of the area restaurants before we make our way to the hotel in old Lucerne. The rest of the day is at your leisure. DAY 9 SUNDAY, JULY 14 LUCERNE (BD) Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we join our guide for a cable car ride up Mt. Pilatus to take in the amazing view over the Alps. We will then continue on to Lake Lucerne for a leisurely cruise, followed by a free afternoon to explore and have lunch on our own. Tonight we have a fun time in store for a wonderful farewell dinner!
