There s no replacement for experiencing something first-hand. On pilgrimage we come face-to-face with some of the most holy sites in the world. We take time for prayer and reflection.

2 WHY PILGRIMAGE? Follow me. Touch me and see. I send you. SEEK ENCOUNTER SHARE These two simple words sum up Jesus invitation to each of us: Follow me. A pilgrimage gives us the space and freedom to reorient our lives in response to this call. Join the countless faithful who have walked before you in this ancient practice of pilgrimage. There s no replacement for experiencing something first-hand. On pilgrimage we come face-to-face with some of the most holy sites in the world. We take time for prayer and reflection. We listen for God s voice and look for the Spirit alive in our world today. We can t help but share good news. We return home from pilgrimage to share our own story of faith and transformation. Jesus told stories to touch people s hearts. The disciples had to leave the Upper Room to share the news of Christ s Resurrection. We are also called to share our story. 5 Terms and Conditions Any payments made by an individual, group, or entity to Verso Ministries, LLC (Verso Ministries) for a pilgrimage package by default constitutes unconditional agreement with the terms and conditions stated here. REGISTRATION: To reserve space on a pilgrimage, a deposit of $500 (payable by cash, check, or money order) is required along with a completed, signed, and dated registration form. Registrations are processed in the order they are received by Verso Ministries, and registration is completed only when both the deposit and the completed registration form are received. A registration form with incomplete information is not considered complete until all required information is submitted. PILGRIMAGE PREPARATION MATERIALS: No later than one month before departure, participants and groups will receive (via ) online preparation materials from Verso Ministries. Within one week of return, individuals and groups will also receive (via ) follow-up materials to aid in unpacking the pilgrimage experience. Groups can also elect to receive materials for in-person discussion groups, to be led by a leader, chaplain, or volunteer of the group. PAYMENTS: A deposit of $500 (payable by cash, check, or money order) is due at the time of registration. Payments made by credit card incur a convenience fee. $100 of the $500 deposit is non-refundable. A second payment of $1000 is due by February 1, A third payment of $1000 is due by April 1, The remaining balance is due by June 1, Any late payments made after June 1, 2017 will be subject to a $150 late fee. Late registrations (after June 1) must include full payment, including the $150 late fee, and are subject to availability. Verso Ministries retains the right to cancel any reservations that are not paid in full 90 days prior to departure and to charge any applicable cancellation fees or penalties listed below. A non-refundable $50 fee will be charged on all checks returned by our bank. The pilgrimage fee requires a minimum of 25 participants. In the case that 25 participants do not sign up by June 1, all registered participants will be given the opportunity to recommit to the pilgrimage for an adjusted fee. CANCELLATION FEES AND REFUNDS: All cancellations must be received in written form (by letter or ). Cancellations are possible at any time but refunds will be subject to the cancellation fees at the rates listed here. Cancellation 91 days or more from departure: $100; days prior to departure: $300; days prior to departure: $ days prior to departure: $1000; 6 days or less no refund will be given. Any cancellation charges incurred from other supplies or vendors (flight, lodging, ground transportation, etc.) will come in addition to the administrative fees listed above. Also, once airline tickets have been issued (typically 30 days before departure), 100% of the flight cost is non-refundable, in addition to the administrative fee listed above. If Verso Ministries cancels the pilgrimage for any reason other than safety, security, natural disaster, acts of terrorism, acts of God, or any other circumstances beyond Verso Ministries control, Verso Ministries will refund the entire amount paid minus any non-refundable deposits paid to third-party vendors. Verso Ministries bears no further responsibility beyond the refund. TRAVEL WARNING: Please be advised that the U.S. Department of States warns U.S. citizens of the risks traveling to Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza due to the complex security environment there and the potential for violence and renewed hostilities. Verso Ministries makes the safety and security of our pilgrims the highest priority, and we monitor the ongoing developments in the Holy Land very closely. Verso Ministries works closely with the University of Notre Dame s Tantur Ecumenical Institute to ensure that all appropriate safety measures and preparations are in place. Verso Ministries reserves the right to cancel the pilgrimage at any time if the group s safety is at risk. If the trip is cancelled due to security concerns, refunds will be given in full minus any non-refundable deposits paid to third-party vendors (airlines, hotels, other suppliers). Please be advised that traveling to any country includes inherent risks, and that Verso Ministries cannot guarantee the complete safety and security of the group and of individuals at all times. Please understand the inherent risks associated with traveling to the Holy Land and personally make an effort to familiarize yourself with the current situation there. TRAVEL INSURANCE: We highly recommend the purchasing of travel insurance. Packages are available online or at any travel agency, and we recommend that you review the terms and conditions carefully. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: All participants on a Verso Ministries pilgrimage must have appropriate travel documents. On pilgrimages that leave the country, all participants are required to have a valid passport. Passports must be valid at least six months past the date of anticipated return. It is the individual s responsibility to secure any necessary visas or other travel paperwork. Non-U.S. citizens should check with their appropriate governmental agencies to ensure their understanding of travel requirements. It is the responsibility of the individual to obtain all necessary travel documents (i.e. passports or visas) needed to participate. HEALTH CONCERNS: Every effort will be made to accommodate the health needs of each participant. Please be advised that most foreign countries do not conform to the same standards as found in the USA Disabilities Act. Verso Ministries cannot provide individual assistance to pilgrims for walking, eating, or getting on and off modes of transportation. Participants who need this type of assistance are welcome to provide their own travel companion at their own expense. Please be advised that Verso Ministries cannot guarantee access to all pilgrimage activities, tours, or sites, especially if a participant s mobility is severely restricted. Verso Ministries accepts no responsibility for a participant s inability to fully participate in any or all portions of the pilgrimage, nor can Verso Ministries provide any refund for non-participation in any part of the pilgrimage. AIR TRANSPORTATION: All group airline tickets are round-trip, economy class tickets and are non-refundable from the time of ticketing. Participants on a group flight cannot use frequent file miles to purchase their tickets, although they can add their frequent flyer number to their paid ticket when they arrive at the airport. Any cancellations, alterations, or failure to use confirmed space will be subject to the penalties and fees given by the airline. Please note that airfares, airline carriers, and schedules are always subject to change without notice. While Verso Ministries attempts at accurately anticipating required airline taxes, fees, and fuel surcharges, any excess fees levied by the airlines beyond the original total price at time of booking will be the responsibility of the individual participant. Verso Ministries retains the right to pass these excess charges on to the individual even if the actual cost is higher than the expected cost advertised. Verso Ministries is not responsible for any transportation expenses that are incurred due to an individual concern (missed flight, change of itinerary, illness, etc.). Deviations from the group flight are not possible, and seating preferences can be requested directly to the airlines upon check-in. Verso Ministries cannot guarantee any seating arrangements or requests. BAGGAGE: International destinations typically are allowed one free piece of luggage, but please be advised to check the requirements of each unique airline. Verso Ministries is not responsible for any luggage fees or any other expenses incurred by individuals traveling on a group flight. Participants are also required to porter their own luggage between all destinations. We strongly recommend that you pack only one piece of checked luggage and one carry-on. Verso Ministries is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of any bags or items at any time. ACCOMMODATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION: Prices quoted include lodging in double-occupancy rooms with private bathroom facilities. A limited number of single-occupancy rooms are available at an increased fee. Lodging is provided at religious guesthouses or similar. In some cases, travelers may be roomed in triple rooms (a double room connected with a single room, with shared bathroom between). Travel within the Holy Land will be on a private, chartered coach bus. Local guides will also be provided as necessary. MEALS AND PERSONAL EXPENSES: Two meals per day are included while in the destination country. Personal meals are not covered during travel days (in the airports or on airplanes), and one meal per day is not included. Refunds for unused meals are not available. Special dietary needs can be requested, and every effort will be made to accommodate participants with special dietary concerns. However, Verso Ministries cannot guarantee the availability of dietary accommodations at all meals and restaurants. The pilgrimage fee does not cover any fees or expenses incurred by individuals or groups for passports, visas, personal meals, extras beyond provided meals or beverages, travel incidentals, personal expenses, baggage, or any other items not explicitly stated as included. PHOTOGRAPHY: Please be advised that Verso Ministries reserves the right to take photographs and video during any pilgrimage activities and to use captured media for promotional use. Any individual that prefers their image not be used for promotional purposes is kindly asked to notify Verso Ministry via letter or before departure. LIABILITY DISCLAIMER: Verso Ministries expressly denies and disclaims any and all liability for any personal injury, health problems, property damage, loss of baggage, incidents of theft or other loss of property, accident, delay, or any action, omission, or error, whether negligent, wrongful, or intentional, by any air carrier, hotel or lodging operator, rail service, bus operator, public transportation service, sea carrier, local sightseeing or tour company, restaurant, event venue, tour operator, tour director, spiritual director, any employees thereof, or for any other entity or individual who is not directly supervised and under control by Verso Ministries when engaged in providing goods or services for the arrangements of, or in connection with, the pilgrimage. Verso Ministries acts as a group travel coordinator and uses third-party vendors to provide goods and services for the pilgrimage. These suppliers provide goods and services which include, but are not limited to: transportation, accommodations, sightseeing arrangements, guided tours, tour guide services, and meals. These suppliers are independent contractors and are not direct employees or agents of Verso Ministries. Verso Ministries also disclaims any liability for any damages, losses incurred, expenses incurred, or inconvenience caused, due to delay or changes in schedules, booking arrangements, transportation services, sickness, weather, strikes, acts of terrorism, construction, war, natural disasters, or other such events which are outside of Verso Ministries control. Furthermore, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Verso Ministries disclaims any liability for any damages or injuries, or other losses whatsoever, sustained or incurred as a result of the negligence of Verso Ministries. In no event shall Verso Ministries liability exceed the amounts paid by you for participation in the pilgrimage, and subject to the provisions and cancellations fees as set forth in the Terms and Conditions listed here.
