West End Theatre Tour: February 19-25, 2018 Itinerary Day 1 February 19, 2018 Arrive in London and meet your coach and tour escort for transport from the airport to the hotel. Enjoy the afternoon on your own to relax and unwind from your travels. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner cruise on the Thames. Overnight London. Day 2 February 20, 2018 Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before meeting your local guide for a walking tour of the West End. Orient yourself to the theater district and learn the history of some of London s most famous venues. London's West End is famous for its fantastic range of theatres, tourist attractions, hotels and shopping. There's always something happening on these iconic central London streets. This afternoon, attend a briefing with an executive from London s theater scene. This evening, take in your first London show (Show #1). You can walk to the theater from your hotel with your escort. Overnight London. Day 3 February 21, 2018 Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before a long day out. Meet your coach and escort for a transfer to Oxford. Once in Oxford, you ll have time to explore on your own and take in some of the sights in this famous college town. Lunch on your own before transferring to Stratford Upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. You ll have a tour take you to the museums that make up the Shakespeare s Family Home exhibits. After your touring, there will be time for a quick dinner before an evening theater performance (Show #2). Return to London after the show. This is a long day and likely return to London will not be until nearly midnight. Overnight London. Day 4 February 22, 2018 Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Today you ll dive further into London s theater scene and go backstage at two of its theaters. Visit the National Theatre, followed by the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. This evening, take in the third performance of your trip (Show #3). Overnight London. Day 5 February 23, 2018 Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Today you ll take a tour of the Royal Opera House in the morning and follow that with a matinee performance (Show #4). Overnight London. Day 6 February 24, 2018 Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Visit one of the best museums in London this morning, the Victoria and Albert Museum. The museum has a collection devoted to the performing arts as well as countless other works that you can take in at your own pace. The afternoon is on your own today to shop (the V&A is right down the street from world-famous Harrods Department Store), explore, or relax. Transfer by coach to your farewell dinner this evening at a local London restaurant. Overnight London. Day 7 February 25, 2018 Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel. 4 TERMS AND CONDITIONS.. TOUR COSTS: The per-person rate for 7 days and 6 nights based on Double Occupancy is $3199. The Single Supplement is $699. The rate shown INCLUDES a $250 tax deductible contribution to the Orpheum Theatre Group. The rates are based on a total package of 30 participants. If less than 30 participants travel, costs will be adjusted or departure will be cancelled. CURRENCY FLUCTUATION: All prices quoted are in accordance with the prevailing rate of exchange between the GBP and USD. If the rate changes by more than 4% prior to full payment, we reserve the right to adjust the price of the tour accordingly. AIR FARES: Airfare to and from Memphis to London is not included. You must arrive in London on February 19. All tips for group activities are included. PERFORMANCE TICKETS: All performance tickets as per itinerary are included in the price of the tour. Tickets will be distributed based on order of deposits. Exact shows will be chosen by The Orpheum in the Fall of 2017 in order to ensure we will see the most exciting productions available. NOT INCLUDED: Alcoholic beverages, meals not specified, excess baggage, laundry, phone calls, additional purchases billed to your room, insurance, personal items, tips for individual activities, and anything else not specifically mentioned as included. PAYMENT SCHEDULE: To secure your reservation, a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per person payable to Let s Travel is required NO LATER than June 30, Final payment, which includes the contribution of $250 to The Orpheum Theatre, is due by November 17, 2017, and will be invoiced. PAYMENT/CANCELLATION PER PERSON BY PARTICIPANT: The Orpheum Theatre Group must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of The Program, which may include but are not limited to: performance tickets, advance payments to land operators; communication expenses; development/promotional expense and the loss of time that might have permitted resale of reserved space. All cancellations must be made in writing to the offices of the Orpheum Theatre. At the time the Theatre receives written notification of cancellation, the following cancellation charges will apply: Per person payment policy: Reservation Fee of $1,000 per person due on June 30, 2017 is non-refundable. The balance paid will be refundable if cancellation occurs prior to December 15, 2017.There will be no refund on the full payment after December 15, TRIP CANCELLATION: The right is reserved by the Orpheum Theatre to cancel any tour prior to departure for any reason, and in such case, full refund on the cost of the trip shall constitute full settlement with the passenger. INSURANCE: Trip Insurance protection is available and highly recommended to protect the participant against cancellation and/or interruption charges due to personal illness, accident or death of immediate family member. 6 June 30, 2017 Dear Potential London Travelers: Thank you for considering the Orpheum s first trip to London, scheduled for February of The reservations have been coming in and we have a nice group committed to the trip. It will be fun and entertaining. We are writing today to let you know that we still have a few spaces available and have therefore decided to extend the reservation deadline to July 21st, or until the trip fills up, whichever happens first. As you know the original deadline was today. In talking to many travelers who have shown interest in the trip, but have not yet confirmed, a few issues have been expressed that we d like to clarify for you. The schedule of activities is intense, but you will be free to decide on your own which activities you want to participate in and which you will skip. The cost of the trip includes everything listed in the itinerary, but if you do not want to maintain that hectic of a schedule for a full week, you will be free to join us or not on any given day or partial day or individual activity. We did not include air travel because most people want to do it their own way. Some people only travel first class, some coach. Some will only fly United, some American. Some will use points and some might stay longer by coming early or leaving days later. While our travel agent will be happy to work with you to arrange your travel, if you would like her assistance, feel free to arrange your travel on your own. Regardless of how you travel and when you arrive or leave, transfers to and from the airport in London are included in the package. We do not need to try to coordinate arrival and departure times. Regardless of your schedule, the trip will cover the costs of getting you to the hotel and back to the airport whenever your flights arrive and depart. Although the $1000 is non-refundable, there is some flexibility there if you are concerned about the commitment. We stated it is non-refundable because we will start incurring expense when we buy theatre tickets, confirm hotel rooms and pay for the tours. At some point, probably six months out or so, we will have to stick to the non-refundability clause and that is why trip insurance is recommended for everyone. But if between now and September you need to cancel, we will work with you to make the financial impact as minimal as possible to you. We have not announced the shows yet, because we anticipate many new shows opening in the fall. We want to make certain we have tickets to the latest and greatest shows playing London that cannot be seen in the States, so we are waiting to see what opens in the fall before committing to any specific shows.
