1 Fair Wear Fundatin- FWF Membership csts 2018 (versin December 2017) FWF Membership csts 2018 This dcument details the expenses related t Fair Wear Fundatin (FWF) membership in These include the FWF annual membership fee as well as several additinal csts, such as FWF audits, trainings, and services. Please be aware that yur cmpany may have supplementary expenditures, such as additinal travel csts, human resurces r the develpment f a CSR department, that are necessary t implement FWF membership FWF annual membership fee FWF membership is pen t Eurpean garment cmpanies with a minimum annual turnver f , mre than 50% prductin 1 in cuntries where FWF is active and at least 50% wn prductin. The membership fee is calculated based n their yearly turnver in prducts as defined in the scpe f FWF membership sectin f the Brand Perfrmance Check Guide. The turnver is determined by the cnslidated annual financial reprt that is prvided t FWF, which shuld be accmpanied by an accuntant statement. The reprt shuld cncern the last clsed fiscal year. If the turnver has changed drastically with respect t the previus year, the difference is nly taken int accunt if the membership fee wuld deviate mre than 20% frm the already inviced fee, in which case yu will receive a final invice (debit r credit). If the accuntant statement differentiates turnver between sewn and ther prducts, nly the turnver in sewn prducts will be used t calculate the membership fee. The amunts are subject t yearly adjustment based n inflatin rates. FWF verifies and supprts yur activities as yu wrk twards making imprvement in the labur cnditins in factries yu surce frm. Thrugh external, independent verificatin, FWF membership adds credibility t yur effrts. FWF prvides feedback n yur annual wrk plan and the annual scial reprt, in rder t enhance the quality f the dcuments, bth f which are intended t prvide insight int yur (planned) activities cncerning the imprvement f labur cnditins, and enhance transparency f yur effrts and results. Once yur wrk plan has been apprved and mnitring activities have taken place, FWF perfrms a number f verificatin audits. The results will help yu t further imprve labur cnditins in the factries yu surce frm. The cst f these audits is included in the membership fee. FWF gives advice n yur internal management system, including the annual Brand Perfrmance Check. This allws yu t perfect yur management system by making step-by-step prgress. FWF has a cmplaints handling prcedure designed t prtect wrkers and prvide access t remedy. If a cmplaint is filed by a factry wrker r a lcal rganisatin where FWF is active and there is n existing effective grievance mechanism FWF and the member wh surces frm that factry will jintly fllw up n the cmplaint. This allws fr cncrete cntributins t the implementatin f gd labur cnditins in the factries. FWF prduces a range f infrmatinal material. This includes, fr example, cuntry studies and risk assessments that can be used t establish what is required in rder t implement the Cde f Labur Practices in a factry in a specific cuntry. They als prvide a surce f infrmatin t perfrm due diligence thrughut yur supply chain. FWF cllabrates with ther rganisatins in rder t harmnise the effrts being made twards the imprvement f labur cnditins. This allws us t cmpile and expand knwledge n lcal labur cnditins. FWF rganises an annual cnference fr all its members. During the event, participants can share experiences and find inspiratin fr new ideas. FWF ccasinally rganises thematic (training) activities at the request f member cmpanies. These can range frm a CSR awareness training t a training fr purchasers. First-year members get 30 supprt hurs t cver these trainings, and frm the secnd year f membership nwards, 10 hurs f supprt are made available t members. 3 / 11

FWF mnitring audits FWF selects and trains audit teams. These audit teams can be hired (fr a supplementary fee) t perfrm yur scial audits, saving yu the cst and truble f training yur wn team r finding external audit teams. At the request f several FWF members, FWF has decided t implement a flat fee system fr the mnitring audits, which will enter int frce n 1 January The use f a flat fee system will ensure predictability f the csts fr FWF mnitring audits as well as a mre effective and timely invicing system fr the audits. Cuntry-specific fee structure The flat fee depends n the cuntry and several ther factrs: The standard daily fees f the audit team members, which is based n the incme categries f the prductin cuntries. Travel and accmmdatin csts which are based n histrical data f invices submitted by FWF auditrs. Further, several ther factrs were taken int cnsideratin when develping the flat fee structure. These include: The number f wrkers in the audited factry, which determines the time spent by the audit team n an audit. Handling csts f FWF headquarter staff fr time spent n the audit and fr the csts f bank transfers. FWF has assigned the eleven active cuntries t three categries: lw, middle and high incme. FWF mnitring audit fee 2018 Size factry -wrkers Lw incme Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and Vietnam Middle incme > Bulgaria, Macednia, Rmania, Thailand, Indnesia and Tunisia High incme Turkey and China Smetimes FWF is asked t cnduct an audit in a cuntry ther than thse mentined abve, mstly in cuntries which are in clse prximity t the FWF active cuntries. In the event that FWF cnducts an audit in a nnactive cuntry, the csts wuld need t be determined n a case-by-case basis. Cancellatin r reschedule f FWF verificatin audits, mnitring audits and WEP trainings In the event that a member cancels r reschedules the audit/training up t ne mnth prir t the scheduled audit date, the member will be inviced 33% f the audit fee. In the event that a member cancels r reschedules the audit/training 10 r less wrkdays befre the audit, the member will be inviced 66% f the audit fee. 5 / 11

These seminars are designed fr members wh are wrking n implementing the FWF Cde f Labur Practices in their supply chain. During the seminars, FWF shwcases its wide range f implementatin tls, and shws hw t best apply the FWF Cde f Labur Practices. The cst fr a FWF member seminar is 510 fr members and 820 fr prspective members. FWF Member seminar FWF Members 510 Prspective members 820 Training r wrkshp FWF prvides wrkshps and trainings when requested by members. Wrkshps and trainings are inviced per half r full day. The cst fr a fullday training is 820. First-year members get 30 supprt hurs t cver these trainings, and frm the secnd year f membership nwards, 10 hurs f supprt are made available t members. 7 Fair Wear Fundatin- FWF Membership csts 2018 (versin December 2017) FWF Wrkplace Educatin Prgram (WEP) The FWF Wrkplace Educatin Prgramme (WEP) aims t mve cmpanies beynd auditing and crrective actin, and twards wrkplaces where issues are raised and reslved thrugh pen cmmunicatin. The WEP aims t prvide factry managers and wrkers with the tls they need t start an pen dialgue abut issues and pprtunities in the wrkplace and abut hw t imprve wrking cnditins in the factry. Increased awareness abut labur standards, tgether with functining grievance systems, can cntribute t imprve wrking cnditins. Fair Wear Fundatin prvides bth general and cuntry specific mdules. General mdules WEP Basic: FWF s Intrductin t wrkplace awareness and grievance mechanisms. T supprt brands and factries in fulfilling their basic respnsibility t infrm wrkers abut their rights and access t grievance systems, FWF has designed WEP Basic: FWF s Intrductin t wrkplace awareness and grievance mechanisms. This mdule prvides a basic intrductin t FWF s Cde f Labur Practices as well as the FWF cmplaints htline and ther grievance mechanisms. Management, supervisrs and wrkers are trained separately in tw-hur sessins. At least 10% f prductin wrkers must receive training in rder t meet perfrmance check requirements (indicatr 3.3). This means that several wrker training sessins might be needed, depending n the size f the factry. The mdule is available in Bulgaria, China, Indnesia, Macednia, Myanmar, Rmania, Tunisia, Turkey and Vietnam. 2 The fllwing fees apply: WEP Basic training mdule FWF s Intrductin t wrkplace awareness and grievance mechanisms # Wrkers Management sessin (2 hurs) Wrker sessin (2 hurs) In areas where the vilence preventin capacity building mdule is nt available 7 / 11

This nline training tl, designed fr factry managers, explains FWF s apprach and gives them the infrmatin they need t enhance their cllabratin with members n imprving labur cnditins in their factries. The tl is currently available in English and Turkish. Additinal languages will be added in The Factry Guide is available n FWF s website. Cuntry-specific mdules FWF has designed a number f mdules aimed at supprting brands and factries in tackling cuntry-specific challenges. India and Bangladesh Brands with suppliers in Bangladesh and India (Delhi/NCR, Bengaluru, Tirupur) can make use f FWF s WEP vilence preventin capacity building mdule. The training fcuses n establishing and supprting anti-harassment cmmittees. Management, supervisrs and wrkers are trained in separate five-hur sessins. In additin, anti-harassment cmmittee members are trained in a half-day sessin. Regular fllw-up is prvided afterwards t the cmmittee, t assist them in the develpment and running f the antiharassment cmmittee. The training includes infrmatin n FWF s Cde f Labur Practices and the cmplaint htline, similar t the WEP Basic mdule, and cunts tward perfrmance check indicatrs 3.3 and 4.4. Thanks t funding by the Dutch Ministry f Freign Affairs, the mdule is ffered, subject t availability, at a reduced rate f Eur in Expenses related t the cmmittee fllw-up will be cvered by FWF. Training mdule FWF s WEP vilence preventin capacity building mdule / 11
9 Fair Wear Fundatin- FWF Membership csts 2018 (versin December 2017) Suppliers in India may als participate in FWF s WEP supervisr training. The training is fcused n imprving wrking relatins between line supervisrs and wrkers, and n training wmen wrkers with skills t becme supervisr. As part f the training, wmen wrkers with ptential t becme supervisrs will wrk n their technical skills and human resurce management. At the same time, current male line supervisrs will be trained n supervisry skills and wrking relatinships with wrkers. Each training sessin includes five cnsecutive full-day sessins n-site and will be fllwed up with five full-day sessins every tw weeks. The mdule cunts tward perfrmance check indicatr 4.4. This training will start frm April 2018 nward and the fee depends n the amunt f participants. Training mdule FWF s WEP supervisr training fee depends n the amunt f participants Indnesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, China WEP Cmmunicatin This tw day mdule fcuses n imprving wrker-management interactin by develping their cmmunicatin skills, with an emphasis n cllabrative prblem-slving. Management, a wider grup f wrkers as well as a grup f up t 30 wrker vlunteers r representatives (where applicable) will be trained and engage in dialgue sessins. The first day f training will fcus n pririties fr imprvement and cnstructive engagement. The secnd day f training will take place after several weeks, and will include exercises n interview skills, survey techniques and ther tls which culd guide factry imprvements. Pilts in Indnesia and Myanmar have started in 2017 and pilts will start in Vietnam and China in the first half f The WEP Cmmunicatin can be requested immediately after the pilt phase. Members will receive regular updates abut prgress. This mdule cunts tward indicatr 4.4 f the perfrmance check. FWF members encuntering Syrian refugee wrkers in their supply chain, r wh wuld like t knw mre abut the legal issues surrunding Syrian refugees, can nw enrll their supplier in a WEP Basic mdule tailred t this specific situatin. This mdule is available bth fr factries that have already participated in the WEP Basic r factries that have nt yet received training. FWF will ffer the training mdule in Arabic (fr Syrian refugee wrkers) and Turkish. Where pssible, trainers will facilitate an exchange f the tw wrker grups during the training. At least 10% f the prductin wrkers must receive training in rder t meet perfrmance check requirements (indicatr 3.3). This means that several wrker training sessins might be needed, depending n the size f the factry. The same fees as fr the WEP Basic mdule apply. As verificatin activities in Turkish factries ften highlight a need fr imprved wrker-management dialgue, FWF has designed WEP Cmmunicatin - Turkey This ne day mdule prvides a basic intrductin t effective cmmunicatin as a tl fr prblem-slving. Management, supervisrs and wrkers are trained in separate, tw-hur sessins. This mdule cunts tward indicatrs 4.4 and 2.7 f the perfrmance check. FWF is cntinuusly wrking n imprving this mdule and will integrate learnings frm the WEP Cmmunicatin pilts in ther cuntries during / 11
