1 Newsletter Title The Chronicle Volume 9 Issue 3 March 1, 2016 Dear Friends of the Community Center, My apologies for not having a newsletter except in limited quantities in February. I had technical difficulties with getting them printed. You will also notice that the newsletters are being mailed in a different format. We are trying to cut expenses and still be able to have a monthly newsletter. Our annual Egg Hunt will take place on March 19th this year. The hunt will be held at Daley Field at 10 AM. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather stays warmer and no more snow appears. We are looking for lots of volunteers to come and help stuff the eggs on March 12th from 9 AM until Noon. Refreshments will be available for all of our helpers. If you can stop in for some time it would be gratefully appreciated. Robin Robin Bialecki, Exec. Director Egg Stuffing Party! March 12th, 9 AM until Noon There are 18,000 eggs to stuff for the egg hunt on March 19th. Please stop in and lend a hand. Refreshments will be served. The Food Bank of Western Ma and Big E s Supermarket Are presenting COOKING MATTERS AT THE STORE A guided grocery store tour to help families buy healthy, affordable foods! Wednesday March 16th, 10:30 AM until noon at Big E s Supermarket. Participants receive free reusable tote bag, a $10 gift card, a healthy recipe cook book. 3 Page 3 THANKS FOR THE ALL STAR DONATIONS Travel News To all of our friends at St. Philip s Episcopal Church and Our Lady of the Valley Parish for their continued support for our Food Pantry. To Trinity Lutheran Church, Christ United Methodist Church, and the Westhampton Council on Aging, as always the foodstuffs you donate help so very much! Thank you all who drop off foods at Big Y and Big E;s in the special collection boxes. Thank you to Donald Payson; Dave and Melissa Fagnand; Clem Couchon; Gene and Anne DeFilippo; Nancy LaFleur, Donna Cushing, A-Z Storage (David, Melissa and Thomas Boyle) and the Taralinkof family for your continued monthly support! Thank You to Tandem Bagel for their donation of bagels to our Food Pantry and thank you our new donor Bruegger s Bagels in Nor thampton for their donation of bagels each week. Thank you to all of you that dropped off coats for our winter coat drive The hundreds of coats collected have been distributed to many area families. Everyone that came for a winter coat received one along with hats, gloves, and scarves if they were needed. We have also received many blankets and quilts, that have been given to those in need to keep warm. Though there were some bitterly cold days in the past month, all that came to get warm clothing and foods left with enough to keep them warm if they had to be outside. There were many who dropped off bags of food anonymously as well. The Community Center could not service all of the people that are homeless or in need if it wasn't for your kind generosity. All of the clothing, blankets, and food that is donated is most gratefully appreciated.
