Work on the Real Estate, Personal Property and Regular Motor Vehicle Grand Lists of October 1, 2014 continue as well. Tax payments for all real estate, certain personal property accounts (over $400) and motor vehicle supplemental tax bills are due in January. If payments are not made by February 2, 2015, interest will be due from January 1, 2015 at 18% per annum with a $2.00 minimum interest charge. It should be noted that there is no mailing for the second Real Estate and Personal Property bill installment. These bills were mailed on June 13, 2014 and contained

4 Page 4 both the first and second installment coupons. Any taxpayer who is unsure as to whether or not a tax payment is owed, or how much is owed before February 2, 2015, should call the Tax Collector s Office at , or check online on the Town's "Online Bill Pay and Tax Payment Look Up" page to find their balance. Tax bills may be paid at Town Hall, weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and there is night drop box behind Town Hall for after-hour payments. Payments may also be made by mail, by E-check or by credit card (convenience fee applies). We recommend that taxpayers wishing to pay online make their payments at least five days before the February 1st deadline as over the last few days of the payment cycle user demand may exceed the available amount of customers that our off-site website can accommodate. By paying a few days earlier, this problem will be alleviated. Director of Assessment & Collection John Rainaldi was sworn-in as President of the Connecticut Association of Assessing Officers (CAAO) on November 6, His term as President is for two years. Assessment & Collection staff wishes to note the passing of Louise Finni, who worked in the office for 27 years, from 1986 until She will be sorely missed by her colleagues and friends at Town Hall.
