She has been an intricate part of Gilliam County Extension especially with the 4-H Program. 4-H Calendar 6 Join us in celebrating Judy s retirement Friday April 1st from 4-7 the ESD Conference Room, In Condon. Agriculture, 4-H Youth, Family & Community Development, Forestry, and Extension Sea Grant Programs. Oregon State University, United States Department of Agriculture, and Gilliam county cooperating. The Extension Service offers its programs and materials equally to all people.

3 Page 3 G I L L I A M C O U N T Y 4 - H N E W S L E T T E R G I L L I A M C O U N T Y 4 - H M A R K E T A N I M A L F A I R W E I G H T S The 2016 Gilliam County Fair market animal weight guidelines are as follows: Beef: Minimum Weight: 1100 lbs Goat: Minimum Weight: 60 lbs Sheep: lbs Swine: lbs may sell up to 300 lbs, only paid up to 280 lbs Possession Deadlines: Beef: March 15th Goat, Sheep, Swine: June 1st P R E - F A I R W E I G H - I N D AT E S Beef: Saturday, March 12th Rietmann s Sheep and Goat: Sunday, June 5th 10 am-12 Fairgrounds Swine: Because of the recent out break of PED virus in pigs in Oregon, no pigs are to be hauled anywhere for weigh-in, so 4-H members are to schedule a time on Sunday, June 5th after 1 pm for Monica to come to your facility to weigh and tag market hogs on the portable scale. Your time must be scheduled by June 4 pm. All market hogs located at Open Country will be weighed from 5:30 pm 7 pm on Monday June 6th. Pre-Fair Weigh-in is Mandatory! Mandatory means that the animal being raised for the 4-H Livestock Auction at the Gilliam County Fair and the member that will be showing/selling that animal needs to be present at a weigh-in in order to participate in the 4-H Livestock Auction.
