By keeping records up-to-date you will be able to see how much progress you have made toward the goals you set and how your work to accomplish them has paid off. Write neatly and clearly. Pictures are a required part of this Record Book. Taking pictures of you and your sheep together at the beginning and the end of your project is a great way to see how your animal grew. Remember, pictures are more fun and interesting when you are in the picture. Feel free to add pictures to your records on a separate piece of paper or purchase a hard covered binder to keep your books and extra pictures in.

9 9 Eastern Michigan State Fair 4-H & FFA Market Sheep Record Book Instructions Your record book is limited to 8 pages front and back. It is not a scrapbook, but rather a business plan and record of knowledge. 2. The record book should not include information from previous year s projects. It is for this year only. 3. Place your record book in a small binder or folder for protection. 4. Before and after pictures are required. Additional pictures are optional. 5. Up to 5 lambs may be tagged and the data entered under Project information. The remaining records will be based on the lamb(s) you enter in the fair. 6. In the Expenses Other Than Feed chart, you will use the following data: a. Fair Fees include fair entry fee. b. Pictures this year will be 8.00 per animal. c. Buyer passes are d. Livestock fee is - weight of lamb being sold in auction x 4.95 x.025. e. Fees from any other shows you may have participated in this year. 7. The average price per pound at last year s fair was When calculating the projected income for your second lamb, you may use either the current market price per pound or the amount you expect to sell the lamb for privately. 9.
