1 Mukwonago Area s c h o o l dis t ric t Your Feedback Counts! Thank you for your participation in the MASD Community Survey! The outstanding response rate of 2,766 completed surveys reflects a strong commitment to our district and our community. 76% 76% of all respondents advised the Mukwonago School Board to pursue a referendum to update the Mukwonago High School. The comprehensive solution put forward by the Community Steering Committee addresses a wide variety of needs at the high school: Expand cafeteria to reduce the current five scheduled lunch periods and open up the Master Schedule so students can take more classes 80% Support Update the high school library to allow for current utilizations very different from previous generations 70% Support Improve safety and security to by moving the high school main office and resource officer to the main entrance, better monitoring visitors 73% Support Upgrade infrastructure by replacing systems that have reached end of life 82% Support Renovate to expand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) focus 80% Support Improve classrooms size, technology, lighting and uses. Improve areas for band, orchestra, and choir 71% Support Build new auditorium to accommodate school and community concerts, musicals, meetings, assemblies, and large lectures 71% Support Create three-court gym and expanded locker rooms plus support spaces 68% Support Being on the community steering committee was enlightening. As a senior member of the community with no kids of my own in school or connection to high school staff, I learned a lot about the building and the district s challenges. I believe it is vital to properly educate every member of our community of the changes and investments we are recommending. This is why I will continue to volunteer my time to make this happen.
