Minutes read and approved by Hendrik, Caroline. What is the CPF? In the early 90 s there were major changes in South Africa, one of the largest organizations had to change, the South African Police Force were very autocratic in the way they were running things in South Africa. The Police Force has become more community orientated. The Police Force changed to the South African Police Service, rank structures changed. Community Policing was born in 1995, this was the way forward for the Police. The community and the Police would work hand in hand for a better and safer community. The community and the Police had to meet on a regular basis; the meeting has to happen on regular bases therefore Community Police Forums were born. This is a Platform that was created to get together on a monthly basis for the Police to share with the community and the community can interact with the Police to ask questions and make statements.

2 The CPF is chaired by an impartial neutral person not a member of the South African Police Service. The CPF Chairman s responsibility is to chair monthly meetings, make sure the community interact with the Police and stay within the Laws of the Land. Address community concerns brought to the CPF or the CPF meetings and also keep a watchful eye on the Police that they stay in line with the Laws of the Land. The CPF represents the community with regards to security with all Law Enforcement Agencies; share any relevant information via social media, public meetings, s and newspaper articles. For example the march that will be happening. The CPF meetings were not enough to get the community involved, business watches, crime watches, community patrols, etc were formed. Neighbourhood Watches and Street Committees were formed in the last few years. These groups fall directly under the CPF s watchful eye, the CPF s duty is to make sure they stay within the Laws of the Land. These groups were formed to work with the Police not to complain about the Police. The Table View Neighbourhood watch is a fantastic tool for the Police, they are the eyes and ears for the Police and do a lot of visible patrolling, and this has helped to get the crime very low. The Table View Neighbourhood Watch are not the Police, they are the community, because of their involvement they do make huge impact on our crime, that does not mean that they do not have to attend these meetings as this is the only platform recognized by the South African Police Force. W/O Nikki Knoetzen He is our sector manager, so he represents the whole of Sector 2, he is unable to attend the meeting due to a quad bike accident, and Colonel Vosloo will be giving an update on Crime. Crime in Sector 2 Cornel Vosloo December 2013 & January 2014 in general House break inns and theft out of motor vehicles remains the biggest crime in the area. Table View on average has 100 House Break inns a month, Theft out of motor vehicles on average. This is for all three sectors. They put in many hours to assist in fighting against crime by being the eyes and ears for the Police. They assist in every way from rescuing animals, crime prevention, natural disasters, medical emergencies and so much more. Table View Neighbourhood Watch: Emergency number: , it is not there to be abused. It does not replace the Police; your first call should always be to the Police first.

3 SAPS Table View SAPS Sector 2 Van / Law Enforcement / All Emergencies Fire & Rescue Ambulance ER Metro/Western Cape Government Services Urban Explorers Who are they and why are they here? They live in the area and we make it livable for them, we have to address the Cause not the Problem. Sector 2 we asked for residents to not leave their dustbins outside. This has made a difference. Schulla Pronk came up with a great initiative. (Welcome Schulla introducing her inititive) Table View Freecycle started on 7 November Currently 2400 members. Rules of the group is that no money may be exchanged, you give and can receive willingly, instead of throwing your unwanted stuff away post it on the Facebook page, this will be collected by someone free of charge. An initiative with Table View Rate Payers Association / CPF / NHW for THE BIG DUMP to happen on 15 February 2014 from h00 All goods will be collected from your home that you do not want, loaded on a trailer and removed free of charge. Feedback 2013 What did CPF do in 2013? We got the community more involved. The Charley Whisky network was exspanded, the CPF got Law Enforcement involved and gave them 3 handheld radios, CPF wanted to raise money this year for a base station for them and The Cheese Store donated a CW Base Station to the CPF that is based at the Law Enforcement offices Big Bay. There is now communication with Law Enforcement. We grew street committees from 0 to 130 in a year. Attended multiple meetings with Law Enforcement, Traffic, Police, Metro arranging operations. Arranging multiple Taxi operations. Monthly greenbelt clean ups and commercial property clean ups. Complex forum meetings, over 126 complexes in Parklands, Almost all the complexes in Parklands Main Road have basically been painted and made neat. Attend numerous Public Meetings. ICASA license fees had to be paid.

4 Security at Parklands SAPS was paid for. We had to give money back to a member of the public that donated money and then complained because we were going to use the left over money to purchase business cards for the SAPS Sector Managers. This was approved by the community but this gentlemen wanted his donation back. Built relationships with Metro, Law Enforcement and Traffic, Counselor Mrs Brenner always there for us. Parklands Home Association always there to help when trees need cutting or if bushes needs to be cut back. Table View Rate Payers Association. Other role players in the community built a great relationship with CPF Who are the committee members for Sector 2?
