NextonthelististheWalkathon.Ihavebeenintouchwith AaronClohesyabouthavingthiseventrunbythestudents insteadoftheparents.ihavehadameetingwiththehouse leadersandtheyarereallykeentoparticipate.ihave discussedwiththemtheirthoughtsontheprizesand rightlyorwronglyfeelthattheprizesareverymuch gearedattheyoungergrades,thattheprizesareawaste ofmoneyandthattheyarenotanincentiveforthesenior studentstoparticipate.ihaveproposedanideatothem thateachofthemaregivenabudgetof$200tospendas theywishtomotivateallyearlevelstoparticipate.the houseswouldthencompeteagainsteachotherfora further$200prize.wealsothoughtthatallprepsshould getaprizeforparticipatingandandrewwashappyforus togivethemfunrunwaterbottlesastheirprize. 18 Detailed explanation of the project Financial support to assist with the cost of providing air conditioning in the College Hall. This project was considered by College Management to be the highest priority for the 2016 budget year. Are there any ongoing support requirements Ongoing maintenance and running costs will be met from College funds. What does the project support 1. A Particular grade or across grades All students utilize the hall and therefore all will benefit from the project. 2. For a particular time period or perpetual It is anticipated that the air conditioning will provide a minimum of ten years benefit to the College. 3. A Particular Subject or Curriculum Cost: $127,560 (ex GST). A copy of the quote is attached. Funding Request: $20,000 payable by 31 March 2016 and a further $20,000 payable by 31 March Perceived Benefits To the Students Providing a climate controlled facility will enhance learning opportunities particularly for physical activity undertaken in the hall. Eg Dance, drama, music, assemblies. Students will be more engaged and focused in a comfortable learning environment. To the Staff Assists the College with providing a safe working environment that is conducive to learning. To the College Whole of College and wider community events held in the hall will be enhanced as a comfortable environment can be provided to patrons.
