1 Call to Order 1:00 pm Full Board Meeting Minutes September 21, 2016 President o Welcome and Introductions o Members Signed Policy and Procedures Page o H & S Board Member contact information Secretary s Report o Motion and Approval of May, 2016 minutes Motion to approve by Kelly K., Alyse B. second all in favor o Review of Correspondence to Naper Home & School Thank you letter from Mr. Randolph for teacher supplement Thank you letter from Mrs. Kelly for staff back to school treats Thank you letter from Mrs. Skarr for May retirement o Reminder to all committees to send secretary copies of contracts for their files o Sign in Sheet attached Treasurer s Report o Review and approval of August 2016 financial reports Checking $50, Savings $13, Motion to approve by Natasha C., Second Kathryn P., all in favor o Review of District financial procedures, handouts Cash handling- money cannot leave the building, count with a partner that night or come back the next day with a partner Budget reminder: spend within budget and on previously designated items, H&S funds are public funds and need to be treated as such with additional policies adhered to. 2 Passed out committee budgets with approved expenses and tax exempt forms Vice President s Report o Update on volunteers All Class Representative positions are filled All Yearbook Representative positions are filled Classroom Representatives are currently working to assign party planners for each class party Principal Report-Julie Beehler o Recap of new uses of space in the building o Request for additional wish list items of STEAM activities Items include Bee Bots, Breakout EDU game and Lego Education In the amount of $3892 Motion to approve purchasing wish list items y Nicole K., second by Natasha C. All in favor o Short review of Naper s various forms of funding District per pupil allocation to be used for instructional supplies, LRC classrooms, building supplies + Technology funds must go directly to technology purchases including STEAM materials already purchased for Naper, One to one initiative in , charging stations for current technology etc NEF grants- teachers can write them and apply Home and School Wish Lists Teacher s Representative-Ryan Shambo o Review of new STEAM time for students in the LRC o 4 th grade and Naperville North Collaboration o Coding with robots Committee Chair Reports o Fun Fair-Shadow leads needed for next year s event. The event raised $ $70 in tickets were donated to students Leftover food was donated to the food bank Leftover candy is available for the Sweetheart Dance o Communicationso Friday Folder changes- no longer a folder but a packet o Flyer procedures Copier code is Flyer must be to Mary Pat no later the Wednesday

3 Flyer must be copied and available for communications team by end of school day Thursday Please label flyer stacks green(e-link) or blue(non-elink) o Clothing Resale-status for fall sale Set up October 19 th Sale Oct volunteers needed, sign up genius link to go out Upscale Women s Clothing Naper family s donations alone raised $1000 last year o Health and Safety- Walk to School Oct 5 th New banner purchased MAD club will make additional posters o General Fundraising- Manna gift card program changing over to downtown Naperville gift card program and will be rolled out in October o Spirit Wear- Order is in Concerns with shipping charges on the website o Art Awareness- Volunteers still needed please contact Betty M. o SFCP- Meeting with Mrs. Kelly on MAD club and Katy Farrell for Parents Night o Directory- In progress o Naper Nation- Taco truck scheduled for conferences week for staff Oct 1 Donuts with Dads to kick off Watchdogs program President s Report o Information from the District Chrome books we rolled out in the Junior High

4 The week of October 4 th look for a survey from the district on school calendar and school days Focus 203 will be held on November 17 th to discuss the findings from last year s research and the surveys o Naper News o Wealth of information on Naper s website, including tons of information under the Home & School link o H & S logo on all flyers (on website) o Contracts-NK signs all.
