4 FAA Project Justification Directions Complete a programming work item sheet for each project that the airport is proposing to fund for FY 2017, FY 2018, and FY Project Description: The project scope of work includes the removal of the existing partial parallel taxiway and the construction of Phase I (1,800 ) of the full parallel taxiway at standard runway-taxiway separation. The project will basically put back the amount of taxiway that exists today. In 2010, the PCI was 25 and we expect it could be below 12 today. In addition, the taxiway is not at the standard runway/taxiway separation. At the ODOT inspection in October 2013, it was recommended this pavement be addressed as soon as possible. Total Cost: $166,667 Funding Sources/Breakdown: Entitlements State Apportionment Discretionary State (non-faa) Local Other $150,000 $0 $0 $8,333 $8,333 $0 Justification: The taxiway is not at the standard runway/taxiway separation as it is approximately 150 from the runway centerline. The existing design code is B-II, which would necessitate a 35 wide taxiway 240 from the runway; however, the future ALP shows the airport s ultimate condition will be a C-II facility, which has a 300 separation distance. During the 2013 RSA study the existing operations indicated the airport could justify an approach category C. Given these two factors, the partial parallel taxiway in Phase I will be constructed at 300 separation. The existing area has alligator cracking, large longitudinal cracks, and loose asphalt that has become a FOD issue with airport management.
