6 TRIANGLE REGION S CONTINUED SUCCESS Key factors present in the Triangle region that provide a competitive advantage for businesses in the area include high labor productivity, a modest cost-of-living, affordable higher education expenses, and an excellent primary education system. While the Triangle region has always been known for its resilient economy, the area outperformed most of the country throughout the recent recession. Since late 2009 there have been more than 7,000 jobs announced in the region.
