3 F r e e d o m F l y e r P a g e 3 DIRECTOR Rodger McEwan This year is winding down in a hurry, seams like I've been saying that a lot more frequently lately, doesn't feel that long ago I was saying, wow, here it is March or April already, and now the year is almost gone, they say the older you get the faster the time goes by and I believe it. Over the next two months Toy Runs will be going on almost every week end, we'll try to keep you updated on our web page and face book when and where they will be happening. This years annual Loma Linda Hospital Toy Run will be sponsored by Quaid Harley-Davidson and as in years past will be leaving from the dealership after our December 15thChapter Meeting. A $ donation and an unwrapped toy are your admission for this ride, 100% of all donations goes to benefit the Hospital. Also on the calendar for November is our annual St. Ann's Lady of Hope ride. There is a large container in the store for your donations of toys and non perishable food items. We will be collecting additional unwrapped toys cash and food donations at our next meeting, all cash donations received will be exchanged for Stater Bros. Gift cards. A very special thanks to our Chapter members John and Sally Madrid, Ed and Faye Sargent, John and Jayne Miller, Don and Margie Remai, Jerry Barnes, Dan Rodela, Randy Kim, Scott Jones, Tom Lucero, Bob Baker, Mona Donley, Bob Lee, Curt and Rita Bivens, Rick Forrester and Rick Mulder (if I missed anybody I apologize) for all their hard work and the sponsors who gave so generously, Shapiro and Leventhol Law Group and Law Tigers in making our 18th Annual Vet Run a huge success. We still have "some" Vet run T-Shirts for sale $15.00 short sleeve and $20.00 for long sleeve, they are going pretty fast, so let me know if you want one, either or phone me, some sizes are not available. Officer elections for year 2014 are going to be held at the next general membership meeting in November, make your voices heard and come out and vote. Don't forget the "Dam Ride" in November this is always a fun short overnight ride to Hoover Dam a flyer is in this months news letter with all the leave point and Hotel reservation information. That's it for this time folks. Ride safe and often. I'll see you on the road. Loma Linda Harley Owners Group Where Everybody Is Welcome
4 F r e e d o m F l y e r P a g e 4 ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Bob Lee Well, the year is winding down and not much on the calendar for rides, but we will be blasting the toy rides for the next two months. This time of year, we support the children. We have St. Anne s after the November meeting. Donations are needed at the dealer or to one of the chapter officers. December 15th is the Loma Linda University Children Hospital Toy Run hosted by Quaid Loma Linda Harley- Davidson dealership. Participation from members would be greatly appreciated for these two projects. Thank you in advance, Bob Lee. Loma Linda Harley Owners Group Where Everybody Is Welcome

9 F r e e d o m F l y e r P a g e 9 As the membership knows elections will be held at the next meeting. I believe that since many new members don t know me I should introduce myself. I have been a member of the HOG Chapter since 1991 and was the director for 14 of those years. When I was asked to step down as director I believe that I was convinced that it was the right thing to do. But watching the direction the chapter has moved in over the last three years I believe it is time to get re-involved in the operations of the chapter. I would appreciate your vote in the upcoming election, look forward to meeting and getting more involved with the present membership. Thanks. Butch Araiza for LLHOG Director I've been part of the Chapter leadership since 2001 this included positions such as Road Captain, Safety Officer, Assistant Director and also Director. Due to my direct involvement in the chapter over the last five years chapter involvement at the dealership has increased significantly. During this administrations last five years the Chapter has purchased its own tables and chairs, saving approximately $ per month in chair and table rentals. We've also purchased our own PA system and BBQ which has helped tremendously in our summer months during the numerous Burger Burns we've been having, in fact it's more than paid for itself from donations at these events. When it comes to our Annual Vet Run we have consistently improved this ride over the last five years to levels of participation that this Chapter has never seen before ever. This year was our best one yet and they will continue to get better. Our Toy Run to St Ann's last year was one of the best of recent years and I plan to make this years another success. The chapter picnic we decided to have this year was a huge success and I look forward to many more. Our ride calendar has consistently had more day rides, week end rides and overnighters planned month in and month out than ever before in our history. Even after doing all of these events we continue to maintain a decent balance in our checking account. My name is Scott Jones and I'm running for Director, if you like the direction the Chapter has been going over the last five years I would appreciate your vote.
10 F r e e d o m F l y e r P a g e 10 Hello LLHOGers. The office of Treasure is being voted on this month and I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your support in my bid to remain your Treasure for My qualifications for this position are as follows. I have balanced the Chapters Finances to the penny. I have made sure that all transactions have been made in the best interest for the Chapter. When I started as your Treasure we had about $1, in the Chapter Acct. Today, through my hard work our Chapter Balance is well over $5, I have introduced Electronic banking to our Chapter where the Chapter members can make payments by cash, checks and electronically via PayPal or scanning your Credit Cards through the cell phone directly into the Chapters Bank Account. This generated additional 40% sales at our Annual Veterans Ride which would not have been possible had we not been able to accept credit cards. In closing if you the Chapter members would like your Chapter Finances to be accurately accounted for then I am the best choice to continue as your Chapter Treasure. Thank you for your support. Randy Kim for LLHOG Treasurer
