Over 300 members attended the meeting. Our theme for this year s AGM was live and work as a community, symbolized by bees, which emphasize community, hard work, trust, family, and care for others all Moya Financial values. The Board of Directors and senior staff presented several reports. Moya Financial had a very good fiscal year and as a result, the Board declared a $225,000 patronage distribution. The distribution will be for both Moya borrowers and savers. Details are still being worked out, but we anticipate that the distribution will be paid out in the next few weeks. The membership passed a motion to reduce the size of the Board from 12 members to 10. This brings the number of directors in line with other credit unions. The results of this year directors elections were announced. Bill Stajan and Margaret Zalar were re-elected to the Board to serve another term. Thanks to all candidates for their interest. Joe Levstik, a long-time Board member at Moya Financial and the former Krek Slovenian Credit Union, announced his retirement from the Board. The Board thanked him for his 22 years of dedicated service to our credit union. Many questions were asked at the meeting. While we appreciate that our members are engaged, for future meetings the Board would like to encourage members to submit questions in advance to ensure the meeting is smooth and efficient. If any questions arise throughout the year, please feel free to contact our CEO or any Board member. Overall, the second AGM was well received. Thanks to the staff for their hard work and dedication. We are happy to introduce e-statements as a new online banking feature! The View E-Statements option in online banking will allow you to access PDF versions of your statements at your convenience for anytime, anywhere viewing. E-statements produced after May 2017 are now available online and future e-statements will be uploaded on the regular statement date. Why enrol for e-statements? E-statements look the same as paper statements but offer you more convenience. E-statements are free for all chequing accounts. Save paper and help protect the environment. Effective July 1, 2018, paper statements will incur a charge of $2 per cycle for chequing accounts. The first charge for paper statements on members accounts will be on July 31, PAPER STATEMENTS WILL CONTINUE TO BE FREE FOR SENIORS (60+). WE VE IMPROVED MOYA MOBILE APP S FEATURES! To prepare for the move, some upgrades will begin in the coming weeks. We will announce the grand opening upon completion of the renovations in the summer months. This redesign will help us to serve our members better, with more services in one building, a safer parking lot, and an improved layout. SPRING 2018 Once the improvements are completed at 747 Brown s Line, Member Services (branch banking) will permanently move to this location. Renovations will then begin on the main floor at 725 Brown s Line, which will permanently house our lending department. Further details will follow in the coming months.
