1 Major Projects Update October 2018 Prepared by Business and Operations October 19, 2018 Facilities Update Construction Progress Bismarck High School Addition & Renovation Auditorium: Concrete foundation walls continue to be poured. The curved foundation wall for the front of the stage has been poured Precast walls will be arriving in the next week, creating the high walls of the auditorium. Underground plumbing 95% complete Front Entrance: Exterior is 95% complete. Roof caps and caulking along with the Aluminum entrances being worked on. Interior walls painted, ceiling started and flooring work installed this week. Punchlist for Front Entrance set for Week of Oct. 8th Gymnasium Addition: Work on Foundation walls continue. Existing North entrance & stair have been demoed. Temporary walls have been installed. Structural steel is arriving on site the first half of Oct. 1

3 Century High School Addition and Renovation Phase II East Addition Framing of exterior in Area G is progressing. Interior framing on 2 nd floor of Area G has begun. Setting steel in Area E. One more pour of slab on grade is remaining in Areas F & G. FACS lab, Fashions lab and Child Related Careers rooms are finished. 4 Simle Middle School Addition & Renovation Gym foundation is in and backfilled. Gym precast scheduled to arrive October 15 th and take a week to install. Gym roof joists schedule to arrive October 22 nd. Mechanical is working on some underground at gym and controls. Simle Middle School Gym slab area awaiting precast Gym foundation wall/demo at gym tie-in 4
5 Transportation Update We have 4,984 students registered for busing so far this year, 110 ahead of last month and 153 more than this time last year. We are seeing some capacity issues on a Miller route. Some students have been moved to another bus to help capacity. I have attached three graphs: o Registered to Riding. This graph compares the number of students riding to those registered. o Capacity to Registered. This graph compares number of registered students to the bus capacity. We use a 3 to a seat formula for elementary students and 2 to a seat formula for secondary students. o Riding to Capacity. This graph compares number of students riding to the bus capacity. 5
