8 ANNUAL PRIVATE CAPITAL MARKETS CONFERENCE & PRIVATE CAPITAL MARKETS AWARDS Since its inception in 2012, the PCMA Private Capital Markets Conference has earned a reputation for pragmatic, insightful presentations that attracts a broad base of professionals eager to learn about new developments in the private capital markets including exempt market and ways to benefit from them. This usually sold out event culminates with the presentation of the PCMA Private Capital Markets Awards. In 2012, the PCMA launched these national awards for private capital deals across Canada - the only national industry awards for exempt market issuers, dealers and professionals that promote best practices and high standards of conduct in the private capital markets. 11 CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS PCMA believes that building an educational infrastructure to help private capital markets professionals, their CFOs, CCO s, UDP s and dealing representatives succeed is a key priority for private capital industry. We hear from our members across Canada that there are few in-depth learning opportunities focused on the exempt market and how to successfully operate as dealers and issuers in this unique market. PCMA CFO Education Series: Regulatory Financial Reporting Program The Regulatory Financial Reporting Certificate Program is a unique learning opportunity tailored to the exempt market industry. The regulators have been taking regulatory action based on their findings including suspension of registration. The PCMA Compliance Program addresses the responsibilities of a Chief Compliance Officer and meeting the requirements of securities legislation and expectations of regulators.
