2 ANZIIF/SCI REINSURANCE INTERNATIONAL STUDY COURSE (RISC) SINGAPORE The ANZIIF/SCI RISC Singapore is an intensive course that aims to provide the delegates with a solid understanding of reinsurance in practice, allowing them to implement their learning experience in a workplace environment. The course has been running successfully for 48 years in Australia, and it has been an integral part of many careers in reinsurance. This is the first time that the course is being offered in Singapore by the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) through a collaborative arrangement with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). WHAT IS INVOLVED? The 4-day intensive reinsurance study course consists of presentations by leading experts from the insurance and reinsurance industry and includes syndicate group work. The delegates will need to work through a case study within their syndicate groups. The delegates will attend various presentations which will assist in furthering their reinsurance knowledge around strategic considerations involving the purchase of reinsurance, technical aspects pertaining to the different types of reinsurance available, analysis of the financial impact of reinsurance on an insurer s financial statements and a legal/regulatory overview. Syndicate groups will discuss the various presentations for use and decision-making in their case study findings to be presented on the last day of the course. The expert panel, being made up of industry leaders, will provide feedback to the syndicate groups about their findings and presentations. WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS COURSE? This comprehensive Reinsurance 4-day residential course is ideal for professionals who work directly (e.g. underwriters, brokers and claims staff members) or indirectly (e.g. lawyers, actuaries, accountants and auditors) in the insurance sector or the reinsurance sector, including companies, regulators and government bodies that service and/or interact with the financial services industry, subject to the following: Delegates should preferably have at least 3 years of work experience if they are in the reinsurance sector, or at least 5 years of work experience if they are in the insurance sector; and Delegates should also be comfortable to converse and present in English during their syndicate group activities. The course provides individuals with the opportunity to build a solid understanding of reinsurance in practice. It will cover underwriting and placement, rating concepts, portfolio modelling, regulatory requirements, and other topical industry issues. 2

In the event of a change of venue and/or duration, the agreement to participate will remain in force as long as the sponsor is informed at least one month before the event. The SCI reserves the sole right to accept or reject any application for sponsorship. Specific details and specifications of the artwork for logos and advertisements will be sent through to your sponsorship pack post-approval. The pack also will contain all signage and collateral delivery information. In the event that a sponsor changes logos or branding, the SCI reserve the sole right to use the original logo supplied throughout the duration of the event campaign. Substitutions to the new logos or branding will be made only at the start of a new event campaign. Submission of sponsorship confirmation after the specified deadline may result in the sponsor not being provided with all of the listed benefits. Cancellation In the event of any sponsorship withdrawal, notification must be made in writing to the SCI. Unless that particular sponsorship is resold, the SCI reserves the sole right to retain any payment received to date. 14
